OK, I'm getting ready to go vote in our primary elections today.
I look at my voter registration card, it says to go to an elementary school near me. I show up, no signs, no directions, nothing. I go inside the office "Hey, are you guys a voting location?"
"Nope."
!!!!!
So I call the toll-free number for that dumb cow Theresa LePore (Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, creator of the infamous butterfly ballot), and I get an all circuits busy about 10 times. Finally call the regular number, and a really rude lady answers. It goes something like this:
Me: Hi there, I'm trying to vote, but my voter registration card has the incorrect voting location.
Her: What does it say?
Me: Citrus Cove Elementary School.
Her: And nobody is there?
Me: Is that a voting location? I can tell you my precinct number if that would help.
Her: Just give me your name.
Me: OK, but I can give you the precinct number and my voter registration number, and everything should pop right up.
Her: Sir, I just need your name, not your precinct number.
Me: OK (I give her my name, and have to spell EVERY SINGLE PART OF IT, even though it is a common name).
Her: OK, now your address.
Me: (same thing...you don't know how to spell DRIVE?!?!?!?!).
Her: What is your precinct number?
Me: Oh, NOW you need that? (then I tell her)
Her: I need a telephone number.
Me: You mean, you don't have that information handy? Where folks should go to vote if you have their address and precinct number?
Her: Sir, I will have to call you back.
That was 45 minutes ago.
Going to find it online now!
