I believe Bush will win this election. He has several things going
for him.First he has created this environment of America under attack sowing fear in most decent Americans. He has sold himself as the man on the white horse coming to America's rescue. He knows Americans are suckers for believing that dark skinned strangers with a weird religion are out to get them.He also knows that Americans, just like other people, will not do anything that upsets their stability and investment in economic stability. He knows that the soldiers who fight and die for the country do not count because they are career soldiers drawn from the lower classes of American society.Only the voices of the comfortable and well off and the wannabes that want to move into this status count.

1. that's what he's counting on, but I'm not sure it's enough to win
(this time).

PS a space after each period makes your post easier to read.

2. Then i say let's draft a few of the "comfortable" and send them to Iraq.
And make sure the "comfortable and well off" are the first to go in the next conflict we start. Your draft number should be directly proportional to your wealth. The more money you have, the quicker you will be drafted.

10. While your list makes good sense please remember that our
country is now gripped by madness as I say in my other post.In such a situation, rational explanations do not count as much as the intangibles I have listed in my first post.

7. In fact, it is my belief a win by Bush will be a good thing. That
will ensure that our economy will be totally ruined, our ability to finance wars will be gone and a period of peace can be ushered in because the warmongers among us will not have the resources to continue the havoc they wreak on our own poor and the poor people in the rest of the world.Unless, Rumsfeld's idea of running a war by remote control comes to pass. Our country is in the grip of madness and only a crisis of massive proportions is likely to save us.

Lot's of things can come out of economic disaster. You could get another New Deal, sure. You could also get a New Hitler.

16. What do you think we have now? Our economy is under hock to the gills
to the Chinese and the Japanese. If they do not continue to invest in our debt instruments, the dollar will collapse and the conomy will be ruined. There is another road to economic ruin that has already been started with the Iraq war which is guzzling close to 200 billion dollars a year and increasing every month. Please tell me which way you want us to go to economic ruin.Dr.Bush has got many precriptions for us.

21. It's right there in the article
Vitner and other economists are anxiously awaiting job figures from the Labor Department (news - web sites), due out on Friday, for any signs of improvement. Analysts are expecting the nation's payrolls to add 150,000 jobs. In July, the economy only added 32,000 jobs.

On Friday, everyone finds out that our economy is tanking. He ends up looking like a twit--or worse, like his father. Buh-bye, Shrubby.

33. Look, with all due respect ( I guess)
take the gloom and doom elsewhere. I have kids to worry about. I want to see my elderly VETERAN MOTHER KEEP HER BENEFITS. I want to see technology and science help many to live longer lives. I want to see health care SAVE a life. I want to see people happy and paying their bills with new jobs. I want to see soldiers live to see retirement.

Your bullshit is just what Bush wants.

23. Good points, Carmel is lovely, but the rest of the country is ready
...for change. Just remember, when Clinton was impeached by the House, his popularity was 66-70%. The American people aren't stupid as a group. Sure there are pockets of folks who would rather be on food stamps than vote for someone who is reasonable toward gays, etc. But as a group, we demonstrated with Clinton that it's the bread-and-butter issues. Buck up and lets carry IN.

31. But don't forget this....
Four years ago Gore WON the election (yes, we all know it was stolen from him by the * and the Supremes) - without the party unity we are seeing now, without the magnificent protest in NYC, without the anger that the past 4 years have created......My head and eyes tell me it will be a very tough challenge, but my heart tells me that the majority will see through this sham - at least enough to send * packing to Texas. Keep the faith!

32. Well, go sit under a bridge and weep.
And there is no economic stability in America right now. That's why fiscal conservatives are frightened and disgusted by Bush.

Do a little more reading that isn't the New York Post.

35. I will amplify my remarks somewhat more.
If Kerry wins now,he will be saddled with an enormous deficit and the only way he can dig out of that deficit is to rescind the tax cuts Bush put in place. This will earn him the anger of the business community which always likes an easy return in the short term. The second problem he will inherit is the Iraq situation and, because he is committed to maintaining our presence there, he will have to continue spending money on it. Between the debt service (interest on the deficts) and the Iraq funding needs, he would be lucky if he can find any money for any programs like health care, education, infrastructure and environmental needs. If he raises taxes and spends on these needs of the people, the Bush cabal will again tar him with the Tax and Spend label. He will be between a rock and a hard spot.

If on the other hand, he decides to withdraw from Iraq in order to fund our social programs, the Bush cabal will say he is Soft on Terror, again a death sentence in our current prevailing political situation. In other words, Bush has boxed us in.Winning will be as bad a deal for us as losing.
