Rudi Guiliani, just another despicable Republican whore.
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 11:43 AM by Cyrano
I haven't been able to watch the GOP convention, but Al Franken played a bit of Guiliani's speech.

Guiliani related how he looked up, saw fire on the 101st floor, realized someone had jumped, and although it was only about 30 seconds, it seemed like he was falling for 30 minutes. Guiliani continued that he turned to someone (police chief? can't recall) and said, "Thank God George Bush is president."

Guiliani, who was a genuine hero on that day while Bush flew around the country looking for someplace to hide, was a hero. But last night, he spit on, not only his own actions, but the bodies of those who died that day.

Fuck Guiliani. Ummmm, let me make myself clear on that. FUCK RUDOLPH GUILIANI. He was a fascist mayor who became a hero in a moment of peril. And then he flushed his own moment of greatness down the toilet. So let me say this. FUCK RUDOLPH GUILIANI, who has become a major league Republican whore.

(On edit: Guiliani had friends who died that day. How in the world could he possibly have sold them out this way. What a piece of shit.)

1. Like I said in a posting last night...
If Rudy really did do that after seeing that horror, then he needs therapy, if not, then he's nothing but a liar, and the blood and souls of 3000 poeple are on his hands for using thier deaths as a political point.

3. Guliani
needs therapy. Many of these people need therapy... especially the one who in another thread that has disappeared... stated that "this isn't a war that we started". Him most of all. All I am reminded of is the rats following the flute player through town.... as far as "we" not starting this, nor doing that......

Of course not... and "we" didn't out Valerie Plame, and "we" didn't give no bid contracts to Cheney's buddies so they could screw the taxpayers,

and "we" didn't tell all of the nations of the world, "you are either with us, or you are with the terrorists",

and "we" didn't do bidness with Iran while they were on the "axis of evil" list,

and "we" didn't tell a senator to f**k off,

and "we" didn't steal the election in 2000,

and "we" don't have to answer to anyone...

cuz this is a "democracy" of the people, as long as they agree with us.... and not "them" the other 50% of the population.

Pass the kool aid.... please. People really are easily led astray... they really really are. Guliani needs to go soak his head... maybe the swelling will go down.

7. No, not soak his head. Hang his head in shame.
But then again, people like him probably don't even know the meaning of shame.

4. I just read the Guiliani statement in another thread and was thinking
it MUST be a joke. I see it wasn't. No shame, no class, no integrity.

5. One interesting thing I noted from watching what I could gag down

last night:

He made SEVERAL mentions of our valiant quest to bring democracy to the rest of the world. OUR brand, of course. You know... the one where there's all this wonderful freedom and accountable governments. Governments that are accountable. He kept stressing that. And I kept yelling back at my TV - THEN WHY DON'T WE HAVE AN ACCOUNTABLE GOVERNMENT HERE, YOU IDIOT?!?!?!?!??!?!!?

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot - he also got all this warm, fuzzy, kumbaya reaction when talking, toward the end, about how we are ALL Americans and we ALL have to come together and let's ALL unite and let's NOT be divided and angry with each other and blah-blah-blah. Those statements, by the way, followed some REALLY blood-thirsty, dripping-with-sarcasm, nasty, put-down attacks against John Kerry. That made me yell at my TV, too - Oh YEAH, CHUCKO? You want us to all join together and love one another and let's all stop this angry, divisive stuff? Then YOU TAKE THE FIRST STEP! Start by CALLING OFF YOUR DAMNED DOGS!!! SHOW SOME OF THAT F-ING LEADERSHIP you've been boasting about!!! You want us to come around after you've just ruthlessly slammed our guy up one side of the room and down the other and tried to make a laughingstock out of him - and we're just supposed to forget about that and wave the olive branches now, and join hands with you and skip off together in song like a bunch of Doublemint Twins, 'eh?

8. I am somewhat disillusioned by the fact
that his ancestors... and mine... came from the same... general... geographic.... region. If there were a place where one could buy a clue and send it to someone... I would buy him one... and send it special delivery. What a pathetic, smarmy, denigrating, doublespeak display. Yes Guliani... hang your head in shame.

I seem to remember him refusing a check from the people who funded 911..... the same people who are so tight with this administration... so just how does all that fit in... or have they made him see the errors of his ways.....

9. what a ridiculous thing to say

...but I can't imagine that he was thinking that at all.

I mean, most people who witness such a thing are in shock.

11. Using that image for political advantage takes Guiliani to Karl Rove land
Al Franken followed up the Guiliani audio tape with a comment to the effect that, "At least he didn't describe the sound of the body hitting the ground." (That's a paraphrase of what Franken said.)

The fact that Guiliani was actually there and witnessed these horrors, and then goes on to use it for political purposes, makes him a totally despicable person who deserves the condemnation of every decent human being.
