Very nice photo, and liked the personal address (my name on it).
But I'm still upset that there's apparently no way, either by telephone or via internet to get across the message to Kerry that he's got to stop pretending he's a "strong leader" by trying to justify his vote on the IWR, even repeating ad nauseum that he'd vote the same way.
The repukes are having a field day with Kerry's remarks, day in and day out. I felt like puking this morning watching MSNBC interviewing that right-wingnut, Pat Buchanan. Pat was giving they typical GOP spin on Kerry's remarks about Iraq - by saying he, Pat, personally disagrees with Bush about Iraq, and thinks Iraq has been a distraction on the "war on terror", has created more terrorists killing Americans and American soldiers, and since there are no WMDs, and no ties between Iraq and 9-11, we shouldn't be there. But then Pat adds that curiously, he also has to disagree with Kerry, because Kerry supports Bush's war in Iraq, despite the lack of WMDs, despite the lack of connection between 9-11 and Iraq, etc.
Kerry has painted himself into this corner and the Repukes are couldn't be more delighted.
I like Kerry. I love Edwards. But for friggin' Krissake, why can't Kerry come out swinging against Bush on Iraq and admit that he was deceived by Bush's false intelligence about Saddam preceding the IWR vote, and that he'd vote differently today given the mess Bush got us into based on a heap of falsehoods????
Yeah, I know all about the "nuances" in Kerry's position about Iraq. Aside from the fact that it's all BS, the real problem has always been that this year's campaign is all about soundbites, and "nuances" and "complexities" don't play well in the media - the GOP soundbite spins on Kerry's position is what people are hearing every day, and Kerry has failed to give the people a clear choice about Iraq. So he's not winning on that issue. If he's not winning it, he's by definition losing it.
Damn, I wish someone in the Kerry campaign would wake their man up, and damnit, I'm really disgusted there's no way for us to get through to them. Post any criticism on the Kerry blog and watch yourself get banned. No real way to e-mail them. No way to call them and get through. So I recently returned a mailing from Edwards asking for contributions, complaining about this very issue and pointing out that until Kerry shapes up on Iraq, they'll get no more money from me. Undoubtedly, since there was no donation check enclosed in the envelope, my message was most likely tossed immediately into the round file, and NO ONE read it.
