Slam CNBC Powerpoll on the biggest flip-flop ever
http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/CNBCTV/Promos/P93331.asp

Agree with the president's comment; "I don't think you can win" the war on terror?
Yes
No

Forget the poll, email your comments NOW to

powerlunch@cnbc.com

Let them know that Bush doesn't even agree with himself on this one:

Then

"We have a clear vision on how to win the war on terror and bring peace to the world."

- George W. Bush, July 30, 2004

Now

"I don.t think you can win . But I think you can create conditions so that the, those who use terror as a tool are, less acceptable in parts of the world..

- George W. Bush, August 29, 2004

1. Done
hey also use this to slam your favorite republcian as Giulani compared the chimp to Churchill

"Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or
small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour
and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently
overwhelming might of the enemy."
-Winston Churchill

"You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory.
Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terrors. Victory,
however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is
no survival."
- Prime Minister Winston Churchill

"As long as we have faith in our own cause and an unconquerable will
to win, victory will not be denied us."
- Winston Churchill

"We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight
in France. We shall fight on the seas and oceans. We shall fight with
growing strength in the air. We shall defend our island, whatever the
cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches. We shall fight on the
landing grounds. We shall fight in the fields and in the streets. We
shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender."
- Winston Churchill

And here is our very resolute, NOT REALLY so called War Leader... in his own words:

"Can we win?" the war on terror? Bush said, "I don't think you can
win it."

10. But his syncophants compare him to Churchill!
It sounds good, even tho ihe 2 have absolutely NOTHING in common - but it makes a nice sound bite!

Sort of like: "I'm not REALLY like Churchill, but I passed out at a Holiday Inn Express once...!"

4. The thing is - you CAN'T win it.
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 01:19 PM by UdoKier
It's like putting an end to crime or drug abuse.

We can reduce the incidence of terrrorism either by police action or by constructive engaggement, but it will neever disappear completely.

It has been around longer than any of us. It is a straw man used to justify imperialist invasions, police-state domestic policies and massive wasteful military spending.

I understand why Kerry and Edwards are claiming that they can "win the war", but that doesn't make the "war" any less of a fraud.

By the way, 9-11 didn't change ANYTHING. These people are using the same damn playbook they used all through the cold war.

5. my email
re: Is the war on terrorism winnable?

I'm not sure whether I agree with Bush's earlier comments that we can win the war on terror, or his more recent comments that we can't. Once he decides what he believes, I'll decide whether I agree with him.
