Pyrrhic Victories, or When are Dems going to learn to fight?!?!
I am so sick and tired of the Dems losing because we don't know how to win. We are so arrogant and ignorant about winning politics. We cannot frame issues, talk about issues or battle for issues on most national debates and I'm sick and tired of it.

Look at all the battles we actually win, but lose. Look back to the Gore/Bush debates. Substance wise, Gore won those debates, but lost them to those that matter: the American voter.

Now look at the battles Kerry is blowing. He has been in politics for years and he flubs the voted for it, before voting against concept. Yes, if the whole quote is played and his ideas deciphered, his meaning is clear, but that is not the way things are won.

Then go to his comment about if he knew then what he knows now about the Iraq war question. How can ANYONE in their right mind say that Yes, I'd vote for that war AGAIN! How can Kerry tanked that one?

My point is, and not to offend anyone, Americans do not take the time to study and decipher politics like those of us who follow it do. And we are arrogant and condescending to think that they will. The Americans that vote do not care about us standing by our principles and it is stupid for us to seemingly say, "Yes, well, I got my ass kicked, new Supreme Court Justices will be named by Busy, but golly gee whiz, my principles are intact."

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying our principles are not important, because they are. We just need to fight for them better. And we are not.

The Repugs are street fighting and we are fighting by the Queensbury Rules and getting kicked right in the nuts. And when doing so, we seem to reply, "Hey, that's not fair" and "Sir, can I have another."

Yes, we have won the war with the Swiftboaters, but have taken on so much damage and the American people are too confused to know what to think because we not only talk down to them, but talk over them.

And I'm sick of it...

2. There are many ways to 'fight' and if we could coordinate our efforts
more in new directions, the impact would be significant.

We have all the power we need, but have not harnessed it.

I'm talking about things that directly effect the economy that can't be ignored or written off as 'those violent Dems'...I'm talking about Gandhiesque techniques. But people have to be willing to DO IT.

3. I am as mad as you are. When are we REALLY going to fight back?
These repug thugs will do ANYTHING to win this election bec they KNOW that if they lose, there will not be another repug administration for 20+ years if ever.

So, what do we do? Since we don't seem to be fighting back as hard as the thugs slime us. Case in point is the slimy Swift Boat liars...(and that didn't even show in many areas)..we should have had a rapid response the NEXT DAY and not just one ad. Play it over and over again. We didn't do that and this was a big mistake because that thug is slightly ahead.

What we do if we are not going to "street fight" (these guys are bastards...) I think the answer is to get the vote out. There are more dems than repugs and if we get all these dems to vote, * is toast!

BTW, where is the "big dog?" We need him now.

4. I know how you feel here.
It's like we are still fighting some other war but the opponent has changed and we haven't. Kerry can be one of the greatest Presidents we have ever had. He is morally and intellectually prepared for the job but we are fighting off people who care not for the country or what can make it better but a force that will do anything. They have no morals or conscience. We have to adapt to this or become a footnote in history. I wish people would stop the whining about the media not covering what they should when we have Dems that miss every opportunity to make some news. Ever see a Dem on some news channel playing around with the idea that * is a liar? The anchor then confronts him with 'Are you saying * is a liar?' What does the Dem do? He doesn't stand by what he means? He says 'Oh well no I'm not saying that.' In this whole SBL thing how many Dems injected firmly into their responses that * was AWOL, that he received favoritism. It should have been hammered. Instead we are left defending. We got a good chance of winning this but it should be a landslide win not eeking it out by a slim margin and it could be if we fight, if the Dems will speak out.
