CBS is making fun of Dem War Room
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 06:23 PM by buycitgo
unbelievable

they are SCORNful of everything they're doing, as if the Rudy/McCain/AS juggernaut is rolling over the dems

one of the WORST things I've ever seen

anybody else catch this?

it was just on

I'm pretty sure they were making fun of THIS release, without going into any DETAILS from it, of course

http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=35453

thanks to bigtree for this

WASHINGTON, Aug. 31 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The following was released today by Kerry-Edwards 2004:

BUSH FLIP-FLOPS ON WINNING THE WAR ON TERROR:

Kerry spokesman Phil Singer said: "What today showed is that George Bush might be able to read a speech saying we can win the war on terror, but as we saw yesterday, he's clearly got real doubts about his ability to do so and with good reason.

"This President has gone from mission accomplished to mission miscalculated to mission impossible on the war on terror. We need a leader who knows we can win the war on terror and has a plan to do it. America can do better than a go-it-alone foreign policy that has alienated key allies, leaving U.S. troops bearing the overwhelming burden in Iraq and U.S. taxpayers shouldering the bulk of the cost."

BUSH ON THE ATTACK BECAUSE, CAN'T TALK ABOUT HIS RECORD

BUSH DISTORTS KERRY POSITION ON REDEPLOYMENT

Bush Distorts Kerry's Position. While the Bush campaign continues to distort Kerry's position, Kerry in fact believes that now would be a dangerous time to pull troops out of nuclear- armed North Korea and further fray our alliances in Europe at a time when we need them more then ever. Bush and Cheney themselves have pointed to the need to keep our troops in the Korean Peninsula.

What Kerry said in early August was: "IF THE DIPLOMACY THAT I BELIEVE CAN BE PUT IN PLACE CAN WORK, I think we can significantly change the deployment of troops, not just there but elsewhere in the world. In the Korean peninsula perhaps, in Europe perhaps." Unfortunately, with Bush's failures in Korea and with our alliances around the world, we don't have the diplomacy right at this point. (This Week, August 1, 2004)

Bush: "And I'm not -- I strongly believe we need to have a military presence in the Korea Peninsula, not only to keep the peace in Peninsula, but to keep regional stability. And I strongly believe we need to keep a presence in NATO." (Bush, 10/11/00)

Cheney Said Danger Posed By North Korea Requires U.S. Presence. Cheney: "'In view of the dangers of nuclear proliferation in North Korea and the destabilizing impact on Northeast Asia -- and as a result of our consultations -- we have concluded that it would be unwise to proceed with major U.S. force reduction,' he said. 'We have therefore postponed the next round of force level adjustments being considered for Korea until the dangers and uncertainties of the North Korean nuclear program have been thoroughly addressed.'" (UPI, 11/21/91)

11. Dem. War Room
CBS, or any news organization slamming the Dem war room is despicable given how much airtime was given to the "Demsextrememakeover.com" at our Convention.

That being said, our war room does suck. Where's the consistent press conferences, internet ads/games and press releases about the "We can't win the war on terror" and "band-aid gate"? I know the media is biased and doesn't cover it, but we've got to do a better job of "marketing" and making our responses biting, witty, and sometimes even funny.

By the way, whatever happened to the BushTruthSquad that was announced with great fanfare a few weeks before the Dem. Convention w/ Dick Gephardt, et. al. Not a peep. Typically Dem. fecklessness.

12. see lower post
nothing about the hearts

just clips of McCain and Gigli (that's what I call him), making nasty remarks, talking tough about terra, and the dems' supposedly USELESS attempts to counter their message, giving an example of them dropping five words from pug message....I think that had something to do with Bush saying we can't win WOTerra

they completely denigrated this attempt, as if the pug memes are SO strong as to be irrefutable

it REALLY reminded me of Orwell

5. it was truly frightening
It made it look like the dems were wimpy little worms, not being able to mount the SLIGHEST counter to "America's mayor" and McCain, crowing about their prime time speeches

well, did I miss something, or were these two aholes NOT on regular TV last night, and consigned to cable, with an audience of, what, two million tops?

please correct me if I'm wrong

OK...CSPAN and public TV.....another half million?

that was really nauseating stuff though; as in the tank as anything I've ever seen on CNN

they just HEAPED scorn on the dems' war room, showing it in action, laughing at their weak, geeky response

10. The big speeches are always given during prime time.......
...but that doesn't mean the networks carry them. They are carrying the repubs for 3 hrs on the networks.

15. I know.....I didn't state it very well
what I should have said is that they were glowing about the power of the prime time message, while neglecting to mention that hardly anybody saw it!

those clips were probably the first time most people saw anything from last night

9. I actually had a COP give me a ticket and LAUGH at my Kerry/Edwards...
bumper sticker. Last weekend on I-85 going through Charlotte, NC I get pulled over. The officer walks up to my car and writes out a ticket. I am cordial and explain I was simply going with the flow of traffic. The jerk snorts and says, "You know, I stopped another car going the same speed as you but he had a Bush sticker on his car.....but I let him go with a warning."

I said nothing but you can bet I am going to court to fight this and will repeat EXACTLY what the office said.

I am disgusted.

18. Excellent - let's see him deny it in court - wouldn't that be perjury?
Write a letter to the editor of your local paper too. At some point the worm will turn and this guy will be exposed.

23. May I second your motion?
Look around and pick a job that challenges you a little. If you have an hour, split it up 30 minutes for DU for attitude adjustment, 30 on your project! Do something, anything. It will take an effort by all of us to birth this particular baby, and whatever you are feeling right now is the perfect motivation for you, for each of us, to do something. A cup of tea and a crumpet with the next door neighbor might draw attention to your commitment to a better world for all of us. Help kick John Kerry through the goalposts! One more phone call before dinner!

22. If you can... check out his voting record
If he votes in the primaries then he should declare.

In our state... state police officers must be balanced between D and R. And the only way it is indicated is by their voting record.

24. NO MENTION OF THE "PURPLE HEART PATCHES".
The reporter said more than he knew when he sneered. "This counts as a victory to Democrats". The fault for this entirely rests with the corrupt media that employs him. CBS thought that was a bigger story than the "Purple Heart patches". Tells you all you need to know!
