Since McCain is lying about crowd size - could he be lying about money raised?

Is it possible his campaign is overstating their fund raising numbers to make it look like people are enthusiastic and supporting his campaign. Money raised is monitored to closely too lie about - or is it?

1. I think financial claims
have to be documented. I believe it would be hard to lie about. they can "fudge" the numbers on a day to day basis but that end of the month statement has to be accurate.

I think it is safe to assume that everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie. I wouldn't even be a bit surprised to discover that he never spent a day as a POW.

3. There's a site (people have posted it here) which is official and reports
their contributions, outstanding debts, etc.

They wouldn't be able to fudge this.
