1. After McCain picking Palin, Colin is a fucking tool for not immediately coming out for Obama.
What an idiot.

he is really popular among independents.

18. I think his endorsement would be significant for many independents.
Especially men.

23. I think he is
and being from a military family he is still very respected by that demographic despite his UN debacle.

31. I definitely think so
He was just Bush's official advocate for Bush's foreign policy. Many people still have a positive view of him.

13. I think its timing--I think Powell would be best a week or two before the election
to endorse Obama.

25. Yes, but then all of the Freepers will accuse him...
of choosing "his race over his country!!1one!!"

Powell is still quite respected, I think. Come better or worse, the man is the son of immigrants who rose to become a 4-star general and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs so he will always get props in some circles for that.

I also think that he is haunted by his role in this immoral, idiotic administration and won't ever forget what's happened to the country under his partial watch.

No one has told him who to vote for yet.
Is this man even capable of doing anything without it being 'an order'?

7. I don't get it...
what will the debates do to help someone like Powell make their decision...he already knows the candidates...he probably knows both of them personally and where they stand on all of the issues so what in the hell will the debates do for the liar Powell?

33. Another local right wing old blow hard kicked the bucket the other day
Every once in while i would tune him in just to hear racially instigated bilge as a kind pinch to myself that those kind of people are still out there. Though it was no big loss to other air bags who take up space on the AM radio. I was still glad that i could think to myself of outlasting that dudes 40+ years of slanted views :hi:

LOS ANGELES: George Putnam, the flamboyant broadcasting pioneer whose bombastic style and arch-conservative political views made him one of the highest paid TV news anchors in the U.S. and also one of its most widely lampooned, died of heart failure. He was 94.

14. The man has no credibility left
He sold out, prostituted himself on the world stage and quickly disappeared afterwards, as he should have. In fact, I often wonder how come he's not in jail yet.

16. How could he possible support a candidate whose top foreign policy advisor is a neocon!
Randy Scheunemann--of the Committee to Liberate Iraq and PNAC board member. Perhaps Powell thinks his endorsement would be more meaningful, if he waits. I hope that is his calculation.

Back in 2003, furthering us down the path to an illegal invasion of Iraq. He flushed any credibility he had down the toilet then.

21. If he hasn't made up his mind yet, that means he is at least considering endorsing McAss
And if that's the case, Powell hasn't learned anything from his years as nothing but a waterboy for the BFEE, and has even less credibility and honor now than he did when he put on the knee pads for Bush.

That lobotomy he got in order to run the State Department for Bush has really made it hard form him to make even simple decisions.

Lets - see... vote for the pathological liar or vote for the future of America... that IS a hard decision!

He's a life-long republican and a military man. I'm surprised he held out this long. He'll endorse McCain and what's her name.
