BIDEN: "John is a real Navy man. We ought to stand by the old rule, man --
If you're the captain of the ship and it goes up on the rocks you're responsible."

From Biden's interview on Morning Joe.

1. Roger that Shipmate
The CO's ass was on the line for whatever happened to the ship and caused by whomever. But as we have learned over the past 30 years, taking responsibility for anything is not a conservative value.

4. Reminds me of Obama's speech at the convention..
asking if the ownership society would own their failure for the last 8 years!

Thank you Biden!

5. And the answer to O's question is of course, "no" -
which is why Biden said we should go back to the old rule! :7

Keep putting it out there, you guys -- it's THEIR fault we are where we are today.

7. Oh, my--that hits a McCain nerve on SO many levels. The economy,
the stock market dive, 9/11, Keating 5, the crashed planes...

:wow:

I wanted him for prez and I'm not ashamed to admit it (but absolutely 110% Obama/Biden now!).

8. It never fails to amaze me how the party that claimed to own the "personal responsibility" mantra
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 03:00 PM by msallied
is showing anything BUT that right now.

The buck stops with the man in charge. Even if that buck isn't worth a damn thing right now...

13. It is like EVERYTHING ELSE ...
they package things in ways to promote the exact opposite of what they DO ...

Having worked in social services for 15 years, addicts and alcohlics, abusers and angry teenagers, I have had my life's fill of people finding ways to put THEIR responsibility on someone else. Frankly, of ALL the things the Rs do that make me want to throw my TV off the wall, their NEVER ending ability to blame someone or something other than themselves is the tops ..

ALL of this isn't bushes fault, it is partisanship or 7 years later SOMEHOW Clintons fault, Bush has had such bad luck and 9-11 ...

They have SO been indoctrinated by "Conservatism" that it is completely reflexive at this point, they TRULY do not see that they have become completely unable to accept responsibility - it is always attack and blame, attack and blame, excuse and rationalize.

10. I was stationed on an aircraft carrier and we ran into another ship
in Norfolk as we were returning from a Med Cruise.

Our Captain was gone the next day.

15. Of course...that's why mccain is running from bush as fast
as his lip can take him and Obama Biden are permeating the waves with mccain's "95% voting with bush" record that john is or was so proud of.

14. And McCain was a 3rd generation officer in the Navy.
Johnny Mac gave up any right to claim he ever held up the Naval Academy's code of honor a long time ago.
