1. I'm not sure of my options here in Los Angeles county.
We had early voting in 2004, but it was touchscreen. I'd rather do the ink-ballot on Nov 4th if early is touchscreen. Thanks for bringing this up. I'll look into it and make an informed decision. :hi: kt

2. I said Nov 4 because I like going to the polls on that day -- but is there
a preferred way? I know I got e-mails from O encouraging me to vote early in the primary, so I did -- what is the benefit (to him/us) by doing that?

3. I think they're expecting long lines at the polls due to higher turnout. nt

5. I'm going to take off work that day.
And I'm done with classes by 1:45 on Tuesdays. I'll have plenty of time to vote :) I also want to see history being made as the results are shown that night. I know it won't be till later, but I work a part-time job, and if I close sometimes I don't get out till 11 or 11:30.

Avoids the lines, and leaves me free to wave signs on election day.

12. Right. I voted "absentee" but that's not really correct.

10. I work the polls that day, usually out of my precinct.
So I'll have to vote early, I think. I much prefer to vote in my precinct, so maybe I'll get lucky this year. We pollworkers get to cast the first ballots. Whee!

13. Early. Chicago has early voting starting 10/13.
I'll take advantage of that. Plus, I KNOW there will be heavy turnout November 4th. I'll be visiting my partner in Toronto the first week in November. :-)

21. I'm going to vote early, but I want to vote Nov 4.
I think voting on the actual election day is more fun. But I have classes from 9:30-4:00 that day, so I'm going to play it safe and vote early, probably the first week of October.

23. I don't know....I've always been concerned about the thought
of mailing away my absentee ballot. Will it get lost, etc.? I like going on election day and sliding my ballot into the crooked Diebold machine in person.
