This election is not coming fast enough for me...Seeing McMeanie is making me nostalgic for Bush*... I was watching him on Sixty Minutes and was struck by how angry he is, even whe he was talking about what a lucky man he is....

5. McCurmudgeon has always been tormented by a seething rage that bubbles just below.
Recently, it's started to seep to the surface. That's not a pretty picture.

6. What's keeping his temper in line?

I thought the same thing - what keeps that smirk on his face?
His cadence and rote references are similar to a medicated individual.
I bet he's been dosed.

2. I really hope that he hammers this.
I hope he listened to his economic advisers that are for the People and not the ones for the big businesses.

7. Good Play, this is the October surprise by the Repubs.
Edited on Mon Sep-22-08 08:21 AM by seasat
Obama will set the tone for the Democratic proposal to combat this liquidity crisis.

Either Paulson is a blithering idiot because didn't realize how bad things are or he waited to the last minute in a gamble to boost the Repub's fading electoral chances. It's obviously the latter. If the bill passes as is, the stock market will take off for a while and Repubs will claim they saved the day. The economy will still go into the crapper for the rest of us but Repubs will point to the gains in the Dow as evidence that improvement in the economy is just around the corner. It'll keep up the illusion long enough to protect some Repubs and give McSame a chance. Paul Krugman noted that the Repubs will claim that Democrats passed another big government program and use any of our support of this massive bailout against us.

Our party needs to push back hard with a progressive solution that provides protections for the working class and follows the general principles that Obama laid out in his speech the other day. Reid and Pelosi need get the Wall Street Democrats inline with the rest of the party. We also need to get some of the Repubs, who have more populist streaks, on our side. If our party doesn't take the Repub's bait on this, we can turn it around to our advantage.

8. Great!
It will explode the "Obama is voting present" talking point. Really curious what he will say. Hope the news channels will carry it since I cannot stream.

accusing him of not having a plan.

And then after they trot Mooseburgers out for some 'foreign leader' photo ops, Joe Biden will slam back on Wednesday with his foreign policy statement.

They're throwing down the gauntlet to the McCain/Palin fraud. Put up or shut up!
