"Are You a McCain Republican?"

Ask this of any conservatives / republicans you encounter who try to spout RW b.s.

They can't help themselves when they ask "What's a McCain Republican?"

The answer: "Anyone who's been fooled into thinking McCain will be any better than Bush!"

It gets them right to the heart of the matter and plays their healthy skepticism against their own irrational belief that McCain will be something better than Bush.

Don't forget to point out that McCain has a 95% Bush-a-like track record in the Senate. He's one of the lock-steppers.

I've successfully used this tactic twice today and there really is nothing they can say. They don't even get angry because there is nothing disrespectful about it. It simply forces them to face the sad reality of their choice of a candidate.

I agree that it creates a lovely quick opportunity to make that key point -- he is McSame. McFourMoreYears.

McMore of the same, but older taking office, with an under-qualified Christian fundamentalist VP candidate.

And it reminds them of the Republican branding McCain and others are trying to escape.

"Do you agree with McCain's financial adviser, Phil Gramm, that we are just a nation of whiners and the recession is more psychological than real?"
