8. What else is he gonna do? His stupid ploy was an epic fail.
Since McCain is now being touted as the stumbling block that killed the deal in the first place, he is gonna have to call off his childish stunt and attend the debate so that the media doesn't latch onto the fact that he tried to use the bailout issue as a political opportunity.

Besides, only the biggest of morons were buying into the whole "I'm putting country first and suspending my campaign meme". Cmon, McCain held a fundraiser AND attended the Conan O' Brien show when Katrina hit.

Just like with the Palin VP pick, McCain took a gamble and ended up completely flaming out as a result of it. He thought he was gonna be able to pull some crazy stunt that would be touted as a "maverick move". Instead he further reinforced the fact that he is erratic and out of control.

These days, the only "maverick move" McCain is capable of is when he is able to get his 72 year old bowels to move naturally. And considering how full of shit he seems to be these days, I would guess that isn't something that happens all that often.
