"McCain Wins Debate": McCain's campaign is suffering death by a thousand cuts
Campaigns always spend the pre-debate period trying to create low expectations for their candidate and high expectations for their opponent. http://features.csmonitor.com/monitorbreakfast/2008/09/25/obama-aide-mccain-likely-to-be-at-debate/">For example:

On Wednesday, Mike DuHaime, a top aide to Senator McCain, praised Obama's debating prowess at a Monitor luncheon. "We know Senator Obama is a phenomenal debater," he said, as reporters chuckled. He is "one of the most gifted orators that we've seen."

So what does the McCain campaign do hours before the debate?

Prematurely releases an ad that raises their candidate's expectations.

It's not a big deal by itself, but it's another indication of how undisciplined and disorganized McCain's campaign is at the moment.

And it wouldn't surprise me that his campaign has already sent "The Narrative" to all the M$M to use to gush over his performance. :eyes:

6. A thousand cuts is right.
Remember 2 days ago when they accidentally sent the talking points to the reporters instead of the surrogates? That was cut #999. And now this? Who the hell's running the show over there, anyway?

7. I will not link TNR here, but I came across this accidently while
looking at some polls..this was at the end of a e.j. dionne piece, that was linked from the poll of polls

"But McCain's boisterous intervention--and particularly his grandstanding on the debate--was less a presidential act than the tactical ploy of a man worried that his chances of becoming president might be slipping away."

It looks like this campagin could not fight its way out of a wet paper bag. After that hail mary pick of palin, this is just the continuation of par for the course, with the accidental release of that commerical.

9. I am pretty much convinced that McSame's campaign is being run
by a Democratic plant who is monkeywrenching to his heart's delight.

It's the only explanation. NOBODY is this stupid this many days in a row.

11. It's ROVE!
He's deliberately trying to make McCain lose, so he can bring in Jeb in 2012! IT'S A TRAP! We need to let McCain win.

13. McPanic is tanking in the polls. He HAS to "win" tonight.
the expectations are higher for McPanic because foreign policy is supposedly his "strong suit".
Obama is expected to do better on the next debate which focuses on his strong suit, economics.
