Republicans panicked in Ventura County, CA.
I work for a property management company.

I found this situation very interesting today at work. A patron at one of our shopping malls called in very irate about solicitors outside the mall. The man sounded like he was attacked by a gang of nude nazis, he was very angry and terrified by what was happening but short on the details.

The property manager was quickly dispatched to see what the incident was about. Well I gave the man a call and it turned out to be a Democratic GOTV and registration drive. The man was so irate he began cursing about how our company is in Obama's pocket and Barnes & Noble (the store these democrats were in front of) was evil by allowing this sort of heinous crime to occur. It was shocking the level of outrage he had for a measly voter registration drive (but in his defense the measly drive was turning into a pro-Obama rally b/c the table was so popular).

Well the property manager got onto the scene and is also a republican so she was quick to call the cops and break the activity up and wanted me to mail the original complainer free movie tickets or Starbucks gift cards for his heroism in notifying us of the political activism.

This level of panic seemed pretty extreme to me. Rethugs must be sensing something in their bones.

2. That would be a great idea. But hearing this lunatic he'd probably drive a car through our office

He was totally unhinged. Needless to say I was never able to secure his "address" so he'll never be getting those freebies. So sad. ;)

4. Typical
Most businesses don't allow political activity on their grounds. I support Voter Reg fully but they should really be calling first and asking permission.

7. No soliciting is allowed, correct, but the level of panic over this was
unlike anything I could imagine. Its been a growing problem. We've already fired a contractor because his workers were wearing Obama pins!

12. I understand
We were chased away in the primaries.

Repukes are scared. They soon will be totally out of power for at least 4 years. They are taking what power they have.

6. I live in Ventura County and it's not surprising they are panicking
This county has been solid Republican for a long time and it's slowly been turning purple the past couple of cycles. I expect it to go Blue this year. They are running scared.

15. Simi Valley here
and I am repulsed daily by the blight of Gallegly signs (huge ones) plastered hither and yon everywhere I go -- freeway and surface streets. I have heard not a peep of anything from the woman trying to unseat him -- no signs, bumper stickers, nothing. Discouraging. Seems like all we can hope for is coat tails.

8. There was a scientific study posted here a few days ago
It showed that republitards have more nightmares, are much more fearful than democrats, and are basically cowards and wimps. The shopping mall guy is just exhibiting the repuke MO.
