McCrunch. McClutch. McCrisis. John McCain waffled in the days before the debate because he knows his real strength is reacting in a crisis. By building up the false crescendo before tonight, he's played to his own strength and to Obama's greatest weakness. Obama was never a debater--he hardly did any litigation as a lawyer. He brags about being a professor of constitutional law.

You saw how badly Hillary Clinton clobbered him in the primaries. Obama got beat up... beat up by a girl!

Frankly, I'm "worried" that Obama's true self will be tested tonight... and revealed. McCain walks in with the element of surprise and dealing with a topic he should know forwards and backwards--national security. This debate is McCain's to win. If Obama barely holds his own, he'll be able to at least claim a moral victory.

(How's that?)

4. Bullshit.
Do you think people really want a fullblown hysterical drama queen right now? Some one who is not clear headed. The only reason that "professorial" crap is sticking around is because no one on our side stands up and calls it what it is...."Rovian spin."

Besides, I don't think McCain is as savvy on the subject as he claims to be. Witness all the errors he has made up to now in discussing the area.

5. So he creates massive crises to make himself look good? Sounds like Munchausen's to me.
And Hillary didn't "clobber" Obama. She beat him a few times, but a couple of them were outside Obama's control, such as that godawful ABC debate we all know and hate.
