Roy Blunt (R-MO.) blmes bailout failure on... the JEWS!!
A-Holes like Blunt make me bitter.

http://www.theyoungturks.com/story/2008/9/29/143320/830/news/Historic-Day-in-Politics

The most outrageous of all, Roy Blunt blamed the failure of the bill on having to rush it through so Jewish members could go home for the Jewish New Year holiday. That's it, it's official. They are now blaming the Jews. We got all the mileage we could by blaming blacks, gays and hispanics. It's time to blame the Jews, right on cue. I was absolutely disgusted by the press conference.

14. Talk about "dusting off the old playbook"
They already blamed everybody else, so I guess Blunt had no choice but to blame the last remaining group on the list.

Of course, they'll NEVER blame the real culprits here, McCain, Gramm, and Bush!

15. Can you imagine what he would be saying if they were considering working over Christmas or Easter
He would grab the first microphone he could find and scream at the top of his lungs about how Democrats don't respect Christians.

BTW if there is a crisis like the current one I think that congress should work through any holiday, no matter what religion. If you can't put your religious practices aside for for a day in order to save your country then you shouldn't be in Congress, period. But I also don't tolerate hypocrisy on this issue. Somebody needs to ask Blunt if he would work over Christmas or Easter.

16. Actually.....there was a rush for that reason. Why can't we talk about it?
No need to be politically correct here - it's a fact that things were going to grind to a halt due to Rosh Hashana. Not only the Jewish members of Congress, but the major players working on a financial package are Jewish. No need to hide from the truth - and there's nothing wrong with it! How would Christian members of Congress feel about working over Easter on a bailout package?

Blunt was wrong in making it sound as if there's something wrong with it.

23. wrong- it's OK to talk about it, but to BLAME the failure to pass the bill
because of the Jewish holiday? Further, I think it was on Tweety's show, someone noted that non-Jewish House members left early as well.

There's nothing PC here. The failure of the House leaders to corral a handful of votes, costing the economy the equivalent of (2) 700 billion dollar packages, has nothing to do w/ "the Jews".

I thought it was that the congress members simply wanted a weekend off.

You can of course point us towards a valid and relevant link which states emphatically that the rush to complete the bill was due primarily to Jewish members of Congress wanting to leave Washington to celebrate, yes?

Or is this simply conjecture on your part...?

Chuck Todd and Andrea Mitchell have BOTH come out and stated Obama is partly to blame because he didn't get the Black Caucus on board with the bail out bill:

34. I just had a phone conversation
with my pastor, and she asked how I felt about what went on yesterday in Congress. She asked if I thought Nancy Pelosi blew it.

When I told her that the Republicans have moved on from that excuse to blaming Jews, I thought she was going to have a stroke. "Oh no, he DIDN'T! You ARE kidding, right? What's his middle name, Adolph?" I remarked that I guess she had not heard that, and she replied "No, and I wish I hadn't heard it now. What an anti-semitic jerk."

Y'all don't have Christmas in November and Easter in July do ya? But them Jews want to celebrate New Years in September?? Hell, there ain't even any football games!!1!1!1!!"
