Obama Notes 'Remarkable' Resemblance of Palin and Fey
Source: Washington Post

Sen. Barack Obama finally had something to say about the other break-out star of the 2008 campaign, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, after spending the past several weeks trying to ignore her.

"The resemblance is remarkable," Obama told "Entertainment Tonight" when asked about actress Tina Fey's portrayal of Palin on "Saturday Night Live."

Obama taped an appearance on ET in Detroit on Sunday after a campaign event and was joined in the interview by his wife, Michelle, vice presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden and Biden's wife, Jill.

As for how SNL was portraying him, Obama said, "My ears are easy to characterize."

7. I'm not so sure about that
KO suggested yesterday that if Palin was ro overcome the caricature that Tina Fey has created, that she needs to be "in" on the joke and not the pitiful object of the joke. Fey has stated that she hopes to see her Palin character permanenetly retired after the election. However, if she's willing to portray Palin on SNL, I suspect she'd go along with having a side-by-side skit with the real deal. The limiting factor might be Paln herself as to whether she'd go along with it. I doubt that Fey would give her a pass -- the satire would still be there.

8. Palin's going to be hosting infomercials or judging a game show before next year is out
She's a hot property. I see her cashing in.

9. I think the Fey statement about not wanting to portray Palin after the election was a joke of sorts.
I think it was more of a hope that McCain won't win, meaning that she won't have to play Palin anymore.

10. It's not just the look.. it's her VOICE..
When Fey talks, she has Palin's voice, and wierd pauses and emphasises down to a "T". That's really what sells it.. the look is easy to replicate with good makeup and a costume department.

11. I don't really get it. Besides being white women with dark hairand glasses, they don't look alike.
But then I tend to pay close attention to people's faces....
