Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) voted 'NO' because the bill lacked "fundamental American principles."
The Roswell Beacon, a conservative-leaning weekly newspaper in North Fulton county (Atlanta), reports Tom Price (R-GA) voted against the Bush Administration’s $700B financial services bailout bill yesterday, "along with 60 percent of mostly conservative GOP House members" because, according to Price, it lacked "fundamental American principles." Included in Rep. Price's definition of that was an insistance that private markets, private equity, and private cash play a role in the recovery.

2. The 'hurt feelings' line is bullshit - it is standard republican tactics
to, when there are two possible explanations for an action, proclaim the one that puts the blame on the democrats.

Politics does make strange bedfellows - real conservatives joined with the most progressive dems to kill this poisonous bill. It is the neocons and the DLC dems who were defeated here.

3. And Dems should call them on it, as Barney Frank did, don't be a wussy and blame Nancy
Or at least, show some integrity and tell the public directly, Nancy's speech really hurt.

In the words of McGruff, let's know the names of Erica Cantor's little troop of girly men and let's make them famous.

4. Fairness is "fundamental American principle" too.

At least, it was before the political abomination of neo-conservatism was created.
