This is a story summary. I do not have a subscription so that I could post the whole story, but I thought DU'ers would like to see that future president Obama has his eye on the ball wrt our natural environment, that has been so obscenely ignored this past 8 years.

As political and financial leaders in the United States struggled on Thursday to contain the meltdown on Wall Street, presidential contender Barack Obama released an 11-page "plan for science and innovation" that outlined aggressive investments in science and technology. The proposal includes a doubling of funding over ten years at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

2. Beautiful.
Medical and life sciences. There's a lot of good jobs for Americans to be had there. If you can, push your kids in this direction.
