What happens to our economy if the airlines keep failing? Where will business be if we can't fly?

Has Bush & Co. demanded that Congress bail out Detroit? Why not?

Where would/should it stop?

2. Wouldn't matter if we don't pass a bailout.
There wouldn't be much left to resuce, when businesses can't even get short term loans to meet payroll.

To help out the banks and failing financial insitutions.

But giving 770 billion to Paulson is not going to be any more succesful than giving our war effort in Iraq to Halliburton, Bechtel Blackwater, et al.

6. In the meantime, those "brave people" closed thousands of small businesses
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 03:37 PM by blondeatlast
and lost that many more jobs...

Some "bravery." Hope they feel that brave when they stand toe ot toe with a constituent directly affected by their failure NEXT WEEK. Yes, it's that bad.

Economics 201--what happens when small business can't make payroll..

Not that 514 Trillion dollars means anything to the Congress or the president. We will just pass another TAXPAYER welfare bailout.

What's that you say? That in a good year our entire economy is only 13 Trillion??

Well, you see, there are magic fairies and elves who live inside the basement at our Federal Reserve, and as long as We the People keep letting Congress put together Bailout legislation, money can be endlessly printed, and it will all work out.

Or so the fairies, elves and M$M tell us.

...them to account for billions of our money ~ now we'll never get it back.

Oh, but I'll bet that the yo-yos in Congress won't forget. ;-)

11. The gov't DID just lend $25B to US auto makers....

And the Chrysler bailout of 1980 was HUGELY successful, and in the end, profitable for the US.

20. A bit of a difference between Detroit and Wall Street
Detroit got a loan package. They did that with Chrysler in 1980, too, and made a bunch of money out of it. Wall Street, which gambles with huge amounts of money for a living, is rather different than bailing out General Motors or American Airlines. GM has no way of shoving people out of their homes.

26. Were you able to catch Wanda Sykes on Dave Letterman last week
She was hilarious. Was saying, Okay so we now have some schmuck who works two jobs for a lousy $ 12K forking over his tax money so the rich people can keep their fancyhomes and swimming pools. She started suggesting that we get the keys to their fancy swimming pools etc.

Was hoping it would be at YOUTUBE, but apparently it is property of the TV Network.
