Experts say Botox may Spread to the Brain
Los Angeles, CA A new study has been conducted that says Botox may move from the face to the brain. The study that was published in the Journal of Neuroscience says that researchers injected Botox into the whisker muscles of rats. After the injection, the researchers then found that within three days there were remnants of a protein that is broken down by Botox in an area of the brainstem.

Just saying there might be an explanation for Palin's problem.

3. I would argue that anyone who uses botox probably has brain damage before getting botox.
Have you ever seen anyone intelligent use botox?

It's kind of like John McCain and his nine hair combover. If you can look at those nine hairs in the mirror and say "yeah, that looks good," you have brain damage!!

7. That's an ignorant, mean statement on multiple levels.
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 07:03 PM by David__77
First of all, did you know that many people have Botox shots for serious tremors and debilitating migraines? It's FDA approval was originally not even cosmetic in nature. These non-cosmetic doses tend to be MUCH higher than those used to relax the muscles that cause wrinkles. There's been little or no evidence that those receiving MASSIVE dosages of non-cosmetic Botox have had any serious side effects. Second of all, why are you harsh toward those using a medical cosmetic intervention that is very likely not harmful? Some people might not want to have wrinkles? Do you call those drinking caffeine "brain damaged?" Well, that is likely more harmful than getting a low dose Botox shot in the forehead.

14. I don't recall thinking he had botox.
Most people one sees who have used botox are people who are desperately trying to tell themeselves they're not really 60 years old. Frankly, it tends to make them look like clowns.

4. Well, DUH! Anything you inject in your tissue goes INTO your bloodstream. They need a study?
Why in the hell anyone would actually let them inject botulism into their face for vanity reasons? How fucked up is the world that people would knowingly inject something in their face to try and look younger?

People get old. Deal with it. I'm 49 and I look the way I look -- I'm not going to paralyze my face to try and look younger, nor inject fillers to hide my smile lines, nor sand my skin off. That's just creepy.

Hell, even if you get a tattoo years ago, you are now forever at risk for developing a severe allergic reaction any time you use hair dye. The body is sponge.. and it used to be a temple. Use it wisely.

8. Why so harsh? What happened to live and let live?
I'm in my early 30's and I've had Botox. I've had Restylane too. So what? That's my preference. You want to forgo such things, that's your right. Anyone getting Botox signs a medical disclosure and should read the widely available information on the drug before getting an injection. I'm fully informed and in MY cost-benefit analysis, I went for it. Does that make me "creepy?"
