3. He hasn't thrown the ball out this year and probably can't because it would be viewed as partisan

It isn't a recent pic. It is from before he ever started running for President.

4. Because that picture was taken in '05
when the Sox won the series. That was our recently-elected Senator right there!

(And at the time a lot of bloggers were sayin': That shirt should say '08, winknudge)

6. OK, I just adopted the White Sox for '08
I remember Obama was asked "White Sox or Cubs?" on an ESPN. Instead of giving a political weasely answer he said "White Sox! Of course" without batting an eye.

14. I'm in. Although I've liked the Cubbies, there are extenuating circumstances.

Oh, somewhere* in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
The band is playing somewhere*, and somewhere* hearts are light,
And somewhere* men are laughing, and somewhere* children shout;
But there is no joy in Mudville** - mighty Casey has struck out.

*Chicago
**Minnesota

Wait 'til next year!

I'd congratulate you, but I'm still sulking. :cry:

15. I just read that poem to seventh graders yesterday.
They loved it, but they were expecting a Hollywood ending, LOL.

8. Yes, and he said this very recently, just a week or so ago...
He has no split loyalty for both Chicago teams.
"I'm a White Sox fan" he said.
And like most Sox fans, he has no love for the Cubbies.

12. O-booooooooo-ma!
Booooo Sox!

Go Cubs!

No, really, it's going to really be good for our economy for both teams to be in the playoffs. Hopefully, they'll make it pretty far.

Really, it's sad to say, but Chicago needs this revenue.

We were far enough out of the city that the rivalies didn't apply as much and we rooted for both generally. Of course, at the time neither team were in danger of facing each other except in a highly theorhetical sense.

My dad was a Cubs fan- so Go Cubbies!

BUT, knowing the feckless Cubs and their reputation for being spoilers, even to themselves, I hope the Cubs make it to the big game to face the Sox and after a repectable exchange of blows, the Sox win it. Everyone would be happy and Chicago would be beside itself!

16. Well, since Michelle is a South Side Girl
He'd damn well BETTER be rooting for the Sox!

Seriously, I'm an Orioles/Nationals fan, but since both of my teams suck, I'm rooting for both of the Chicago teams.
