"Kill him!" crosses a line in politics I never thought I'd see crossed
When a political figure countenances that kind of talk at one of their rallies, we have officially entered new political territory.

Godwin's law can no longer be invoked when comparisons to Naziism are made. This is just that close to Nuremberg style shit.

2. McCain rally. One assclown in the audience called out "kill him!"
Regarding Obama.

SS did not swarm the man...if one of us said the same sickening thing about McCain we'd be in some serious doggie doo.

8. Actually that was at a Palin rally in Florida.
Not that it really matters.

At the McCain rally someone shouted "terrorist" in reference to Obama. McCain heard it also!! He paused and said nothing which means he gave the comment his tacit approval.

McCain and Palin are presiding over a lynch mob. These people are sick.

40. This is why Obama's tendency toward positive thinking seminars is a problem.
But don't expect a big change. Obama will probably avoid going too negative while McCain continues his scorched earth policy.

not Obama.

7. Reactionaries tend to be violent.
We are pushing this nation forward, and they are trying desperately to push this nation back. They have had a pretty successful 8 years of regression, but now we are stronger than ever and they have never been weaker. Time for some payback.

If that is on tape, it needs to be played all over the news and the Internet so everyone can see what a monster they have in McCadaver and his henchmen.

29. McCain had a look on his face that said he heard the "terrorist"
remark. Rachel played it on her show. He damn well heard it but didn't rebuke it. Just like he didn't rebuke the "how do we beat the bitch" remark about Hillary from a town hall last year.

14. Sarah Palin has taken us to the lowest common denominator
She oozes hate as she winks and smiles. She is the picture of vile. KO gave her a royal ass ripping tonight. I hope she sinks back to the sleaze that she really is and stays there. You know, Todd Palin was for Alaskan secession. Let's keep Alaska and have the Palin's secede to Russia or Canada or some other country that she knows in all her foreign policy experience.

Have I mentioned that I loathe that bitch?

It doesn't matter if the "Kill him!" was aimed at Obama or Ayers. It is illegal to incite violence against individuals, and people who such things need to be held accountable.

I lived through Nov 63, April 68 and June 68. And I lived through the hate-mongering against Clinton. I intend to call them on this crap. They are the ones fear-mongering not those of us commenting on it and refusing to stand for it.

Oh and you're really going to hate me. I had the audacity to write a letter to the editor of my local paper calling the McCain/Palin camp out on this.

Guess in the 30's some Germans were saying ignore the Nazi hate-mongering. Shhhhh.

How in the hell can discussing it on DU make it happen?

39. With candidate they are not always 100%
Edited on Tue Oct-07-08 01:31 AM by RamboLiberal
I was at a weekend before rally with VP candidate John Edwards in 2004 in a small PA town. I and others weren't screened at a magnometer. I was close to the candidate on risers behind him. I could've easily gotten a weapon in that day. I won't comment any further but I thought that day the security was not good.

And from what I read during primaries their protection of Obama was not always 100%. We had threads here in the spring about magnometer checks being dropped with large crowds.

To not comment on hate-mongering is to give in to fear!

I never thought much of McCain but this is THE LOWEST LOW in electoral politics in my whole life!

I saw the palin gathering and the first thing which came into my mind was "Mini-Nuremberg."

McCain ought to be really proud of his campaign, right? I need a 'puke' smiley.
