At least those are the expectations I want everyone to have!!!

Let's see how the dumbass does when he does not have plants in the audience and the questions pre-selected.

1. He'll get nasty and combative with people who don't agree with him..
it will make him look even worse. He can't control his temper, that will be what people take away from the debate tonight.

11. This is my prayer. That he will lose his temper. He doesn't do pressure well..
and this subject is anathema to him. He is getting nastier and nastier and I am hoping that all his 'gloves off' talk means he is going to show himself as a grumpy old man. I hope "Get off my lawn" McCain is at the debate tonight!!

13. Remember when he called some kid a stupid little jerk?
that was in the middle of one of these town hall style meetings IIRC. He said it as a joke supposedly, but if he does that tonight, eaning putting down one of the audience members it likely won't play well, even as a "joke".

2. He actually does poorly in any public setting. I believe that he only wanted to do town halls
so that he can pack the audience with friendlies!!

3. He does well in this forum with his crowd
Not so sure he will hold up with a crowd that is not 100% pro McCain.

4. what makes you think he WON"T have planted audience members and preselected questions?
Wouldn't be all that hard to set up, really. Just involves getting your operatives to misrepresent themselves.

5. He should do OK, but so will Obama.
There are very strict rules in effect for tonight that will severely limit McCain's ability to pull off a game-changer. See "Town Hall Event Rules" here:

7. I'm not so sure- he really is hit or miss these days
You never know whether or not you will get the coherent McCain or the one who can't find his way off a stage and wants to feed hot water to starving babies.

But yes, I believe McCain thinks it is favorite format. Why else would he have challenged Obama to townhalls.

12. McCain is being challenged by a superior opponent with a
superior campaign team and ticket.

I think this format tonight favors our guy and agree with you that we want everyone to think McCain's a master at it.

I hope he buries himself. Should be interesting though, Obama will do great as usual. Hope he doesn't get any stupid questions.
