2. It would depend on what the comparison was.
A comparison does not mean that the items being compared are equal, it is often that they are not.

Pigs must be flying.

For the life of me I can't remember this woman's name. Anyway, she brings up the point that if you're going to make comparisons between Ayers and Keating 5, then you can't ignore the fact that Ayers was not convicted while McCain's "buddy" Keating was and the money that people lost because of Keating can never be taken back.

5. Remember kiddies
run background checks on everyone you meet!

Don't forget that if you meet a professor on a charity board that likely as not that educator and do gooder is likely a terrorist, act accordingly.

6. But - whoa - Sherri just slammed Elisabitch with a great
contrast - "Charles Keating, who McCain associated with, WAS convicted, and lots of people lost all kinds of money. Ayers was not convicted of anything, and turned himself in. for something that was done when Obama was 8 years old. McCain was involved with Keating."
(Paraphrase - not exact quote.)

Elisabitch's head esplodededed!

7. I have no respect for Walters...but...
If the right-wing actually believes that Obama is friends with terrorists, then putting them on equal footing would make Keating even worse than it actually is...IN THEIR EYES. John McCain was involved in crimes EQUAL TO befriending a terrorist. If someone cares enough to do a little research, they will quickly see that with Obama it's only guilt by association, he was only eight when crimes were committed, etc...whereas McCain was directly involved and admitted guilt and must have been in his 50's and a U.S. congressman.

The best we can hope for in this situation is for it to be a wash.
