Have you no shame John McCain?
Edited on Tue Oct-07-08 11:30 AM by DearAbby
This morning upon waking, the thought came to my mind of Joseph McCarthy, how everything came full circle when he accused Edward R Murrow of having Communist ties. How the public seemed to snap, the rubberband had been stretched too far to the right, the age of MaCarthyism was coming to an end.

Murrow said of McCarthy:
His primary achievement has been in confusing the public mind, as between the internal and the external threats of Communism. We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men. <...> We proclaim ourselves, as indeed we are, the defenders of freedom, wherever it continues to exist in the world, but we cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home. The actions of the junior Senator from Wisconsin have caused alarm and dismay amongst our allies abroad, and given considerable comfort to our enemies. And whose fault is that? Not really his. He didn't create this situation of fear; he merely exploited it -- and rather successfully - Source Wiki

Accusing Obama of being a terrorist, because he sat on a board with Ayers, or met him within his social circle. Calling Obama a terrorist on this flimsy piece of evididence, or due process...Have you no shame John McCain?

1. Obama is a United States Senator, elected by the people of Illinois--
how can McLoser can imply something so insidious as Obama having "terrorist connections", without the Democrats screaming bloody murder? And yet, it seems so quiet...

5. I hear you....
people should be shouting NO! Where are the Democrats in both houses, why aren't they standing up to this? We see it. Are they still afraid of the "McCarthyism"? Guilt by association. This isnt the American way. When will this end?

6. Shame on McCain, shame on the Democratic National Comm
for it's silence, and shame on the MSM for simply standing by and commenting how "oh..so interesting" when lies are told.

8. the exploitation of "Terrorism" was used
Edited on Tue Oct-07-08 11:39 AM by DearAbby
very cleverly by Cheney/B*sh administration. Now McCain is using it. Where are the decent people, our party's leaders? Are they afraid guilt by association?
If they defend Obama, they will be called terrorist sympathizers? Don't they realize how ridiculous it all is?

These people have exploited our terror and the trauma of 911, to the point they can accuse a fellow Senator of being a terrorist and no one stands up...

2. No apparently he doesn't
And as nasty as campaigns get I never actually thought McCain would want to be a part of hate rallies. He has lost all decency.

3. I have written to all major journalists and network..
about this..

this is what i wrote this morning..if anybody wants to copy it or change some words.. don't want them to think we are a group out to "get them"

____________________________________________________________________________________
When are you going to begin working for the American people? Can you report the facts? Can you actually, for once do your work and make the McCain/Palin accountable for the violence they are igniting in their political rallies? Do you have any guts and some journalistic integrity left? We all know McCain's campaign is desperate, but how low can they go to win the presidency and retain power? Their rallies have become "hate" rallies. Their words are angry insinuating Senator Obama is a terrorist to the point where some of their supporters have replied "kill him" in the last two days, and JOhn McCain did not do anything to denounce this garbage. Senator McCain did the least presidential thing of his entire campaign by not stopping and admonishing the crowd for shouting something as reckless and hate-filled as "kill him" or Terrorist.

It is important that you, as our news-outlet, to hold them accountable. You must not let them get away with this. Should we start mourning for our country? Have our country become the thugs of al Qaeda or the clergy of Iran ? -

The question then should not be, who is the real Barack Obama, but who the real McCain/Palin base is?.

Until when will the media let McCain and Palin continue to incite violence and get away with it? Just remember, if the Media and the press fails the American people, Democracy fails.

Sincerely,

A very concerned Hispanic -American

4. McCone surrendered principles for power.
In short..Johnny Lockjaw surrendered.

Obama should hammer that word..surrender.

"John, you surrendered on Veterans benefits."
"John, you surrendered on the economy."
"John, you surrendered on banking regulation."

McCain will have a meltdown.
