Barack Obama needs to ignore the first question tonight and talk about McCain's campaign
He needs to get it out there first, making himself the accuser and McCain the apologizer. He needs to do it immediately to maximize the home audience and make headlines. He needs to highlight McCain campaign operatives admitting that they're trying to avoid the issues. He needs to praise McCain for his long service, but say that the Keating scandal is relevant for its similarity to the current crisis. He then needs to list the more nefarious events by the McCain campaign (sex ed, palling around with terrorists, dishonorable, etc.) and then ask McCain to pledge to keep his promise of a respectable campaign. Obama needs to criticize him in strong terms to his face and force him to respond.

As before, McCain will look like what he is: a scared little piece of shit who has the courage to lie about someone when they aren't around, but can't muster the backbone to look his opponent in the eye.

2. Yes. Attack Dishonest John's honor -- his pride and joy.
That will make him come unglued. Good idea on all fronts.

3. "Like Governor Palin, I've decided to talk straight to the American people tonight..."

Oh, wouldn't that be funny!

4. Barack is not going to pull a Palin and ignore the question, which will piss off the audience.
However, he is certain to fight back against the inevitable McCain attacks.

5. I understand what you're saying, but...
...I hope he would wait for the opening...the first mention of anything vaguely relating to this terrorism smear, or Ayres, or the sex-ed lie. Then, I hope he'll insist on breaking away from the debate format until Obama has his say about what's been going on lately. I would demand an apology from McCain for his campaign stirring up hate and potential violence. McCain and his campaign have been way out of line, and deserve to be put in place for it. I just want to be done in context of a slam from McCain, not a mean-spirited attack from Obama.

7. Obama needs to keep doing whatever he's been doing because
it's working like gangbusters.

He and his campaign team don't need our advice, just our support.
