Greg Palast on BBC Newsnight: new story on voting fraud - live in the next 40 minutes
"US Election

A critical moment in the US presidential campaign as Obama and McCain come face to face in a televised debate. But behind the candidates and the cameras what's really going on on the ground? How is this war being fought by their footsoldiers? Peter Marshall has been in Ohio - a key swing state - and we'll be live in Washington tonight. Also, from investigative reporter Greg Palast, a film about how both Democrats and Republicans are accusing each other of election fraud. "

Watch live here - or available for the 24 hours after that: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/

(I think this is available outside the UK, but I'm not certain - please post if it says it isn't. Bear with the programme - it's starting with the £50 billion injection of taxpayer capital into British banks)

1. I heard Greg on Randi earlier.
He says Colorado is purging like 20% of their voters.

4. If only we could get the US (corporate) mainstream media to pay attention-
but alas, purging voter names, rigging machines, disenfranchising millions of US citizens would never make national news- not nearly important enough....

5. i think there are at least two reasons for this
1) Hard for anybody in the States to believe, if they were taught--as all American kids are--that the United States of America is the greatest democracy in the world, where everybody's vote counts equally--ergo, election fraud doesn't exist

2) Huge problem, too late for anyone to fix for 2008 at this point (except by patching up leaks here and there), so it's lots more fun to just put our fingers in our ears, close our eyes, and go "la la la I couldn't hear anything even if anybody actually were talking about this"

It's the same way the looming economic crisis was ignored until there was that loud sucking sound and it couldn't be ignored any longer.
