The one hail Mary that has yet to be pulled out of the bag....
Edited on Wed Oct-08-08 05:16 PM by Aviation Pro
...the Prick/Pornstar campaign has promised fireworks 72 hours before the GE. As mentioned on Randi Rhodes show as it was wrapping up, the only event that would cause such a sudden seismic shift would be the capture of....wait for it....Osama bin Laden.

1. And if the American public suspected for one minute
Edited on Wed Oct-08-08 05:19 PM by Left Is Write
that these people had Osama bin Laden and SAT ON THAT INFO for these weeks/months of the campaign, there would be hell to pay.

Edited to add, why would they announce something like "fireworks three days before the election"? Doesn't that pretty much admit that they have game-changing information of critical interest to the public and are simply choosing not to disclose it?

2. You don't think people would feel extraordinarily used in such a situation?
It would be such transparent theater.
But noting the recent activity on the Pakistan border, I suppose they'd be foolish enough to try.

then there would be zero reason for those that thought McCain was the right choice
to vote for him. Osama would be gone, and we could finally move on.

3. If they've got any new major mud to sling, they'll wait until after the last debate
when Obama doesn't have a national platform from which to rebut it. I have no idea what they could possibly bring up out of the muck and mire, but I'm waiting for something, probably in the last week of the campaign.

22. A loss? I'm talking about the last week before the election
When Obama would have less time to rebut and react. It's been known to happen in political campaigns. And I never suggested that there wasn't a lot of mud being slug right now.

Edited on Wed Oct-08-08 05:22 PM by 1corona4u
no one cares about him. Not even Bush. Remember, he had nothing to do with 911. :sarcasm:

But I think most people are well past that having any effect on them.

6. And according to Dana Perrino,
Osama wasn't even the mastermind behind 9/11. Kahlid Shiek Mohammed was, and we already got him! :eyes:

7. I think in the last 72, we'll see a slimegasm by the GOP and 527's
And there won't be anywhere they won't go, this includes stuff like LS, whitey tape, Obama's citizenship. I don't think there is anything they won't bring up.

8. Also wanted to add: seven years after 9/11. Too little too late.
Too much time has past and too many lives lost now in two wars. In a way, the Bush administration was right recently. Osama just doesn't really matter anymore.

It kind of spoils the surprise a bit, doesn't it?

13. With the economy the way it is that wouldn't be enough to win it for McCain
this is an economic/domestic affairs election. So what if bin Laden is captured, it certainly wasn't McCain who did it. It might win him a point or two but it isn't going to save anybody's house, job or provide health care.

14. That's what the recent air raids at Afghan/Pakistan border are all about
Bush probably gave orders for a last ditch effort to go after Bin Laden.

16. McCain wouldn't have anything to do with the capture, so why would he benefit?
McCain has ignored Afghanistan. It would help Bush look a little better in some people's eyes (I myself might cut him some slack for a day or two), but unless they find him in Iraq, it can't help McCain.

19. I fail to see how Bin Laden's capture
would affect the race at all, unless McHoover goes over there with a Bowie knife clinched between his teeth and brings him in personally and even that might have minimal effects.
