1. I hope like hell we get ours soon.
The county committee has been waiting for them for what feels like an eternity. Mind you this is in New York, albeit a red/purple part.

7. That's a "suggested donation"
I got a sign yesterday and gave them 5 bucks because that's all I had on me. Don't feel you have to give the whole amount if you can't afford it.

4. Some of the greatest liberals on the planet...
reside in red states. I know this from experience. You'll not find a more committed group of liberals than you will in Utah, or Georgia, or any number of red states. Thanks for sharing!

6. I've had my name on a waiting list at our county headquarters for over a week
and still no phone call. They have bumper stickers and buttons, but no signs or posters.

I bought a button and put it on my purse and I've tried to get my 20 month old grandson to say Obama with no success. However, if I say Obama, he points to the button.

8. Someone's slacked off
You shouldn't have to go through all that for a sign.

10. In 2004 I had all 3 Kerry signs from Aug to Nov
no one stole them

until

the day after the election a radio station paid listeners 3 bucks a piece to bring all signs rep and dem to the station (they were "cleaning up" our city)

I was so pissed. It was like insult to injury

I wanted to keep them for souvenirs as I teach gov in the summer

Cheaper without the wire.

16. The rest of the story
Sorry, I didn't have time last night to tell the whole story and it needs to be told completely.

Catching the sign bandits:

The evening before the election in 2004, I had been at the county Kerry headquarters getting prepared for election day. It was around 10:00 PM as I turned down my street which is a very busy street even at that hour. I notices a big white SUV stopped in front of my house. The SUV had bumper stickers on the back for all the republicans. I also noticed a man running from my yard with my Kerry sign. I knew there had been a lot of theft in the area of yard signs but mine had made it from early September to then.

I spontaneously pulled around the SUV and blocked the entire street, I laid on the horn so my wife in the house would look out a window and see what was going on. As I blocked the entire street, no one could pass in either direction. Cars were building up in both directions and the idiot was trapped.

I then jumped out of my car and approached the vehicle, there were three people in there all adults 30's and 40's. I noticed they had quite a collection of signs in the back. I demanded they return my sign immediately. They tried to give me some bullshit about being on sign patrol and were picking up signs to return them to the campaigns. I informed them that I had just come from campaign headquarters and knew nothing a sign collection effort.

They relented and passed my sign back out the window, getting rust from the wire all over themselves (Ha). I told them they had better get their asses out of town because I was calling the police and reporting their license plate.

A lot of people lost signs that night but I got mine back and probably scared the shit out of them as well as making a big ass scene in front of all the traffic that built up.

13. I know you're excited! I saw
an Obama Biden yard sign today on my way back from the library in my small town and had to walk across the street to look at it up close. It was the lone sign around that neighborhood and I was hoping it wouldn't get taken.

I just had been at the laundrymat, too, and saw this past issue of Newsweek with Obama on the cover and someone had written with an arrow pointing to Obama..

"Queer is going to loose" So I got my pen and wrote .."No, whomever wrote this is an asshole" :)
