Make no mistake -- here's the Republican game plan ...
They are perfectly prepared to forfeit this election, knowing that the next president will inherit a big pile of poop -- which they created and have left for the next administration and congress to clean up. But buckle up, because over the next four years they will deliberately, systematically create havoc and confusion with escalating levels of hysteria in order to destroy the sitting Democratic president and Democratic Congress.

So, while Naomi Wolf et al cry "the sky is falling", I believe the real challenge is developing a strategy for staying focused on our goals, and foiling all attempts at Republican distractions.

23. Well she's blindsided the RW...
are they going to be calling for her to run in 2012? Is the GOP "priming" her for a run in 2012, based on her popularity? I still can't get my mind around the fact that they truly feel she is qualified for 2008...

I remember Carter. One was impeached, the other was drummed out of office by the daily reminder by the MSM of the Iran Hostage Crisis.

10. I'm thinking their game plan is to take us for all that we got before Bush leaves office.
I think they'll start WWIII, right after they steal this election for McCain. I think they'll make up some lie about Obama just prior to Election Day, just so they have a believable excuse for a McCain win.

...But that's just me and my fears talking.

12. Sometimes the insanity of the Right really makes me fearful for our future.
They're going to be demonizing Obama in office to a degree that they've never demonized any president before. It will make the Clinton years look like a love fest.

Meanwhile, they're going to keep stoking the rednecks, bigots, and fanatics with the idea that Obama is destroying the country. How long will it be before they attempt to kill him?

When I think these thoughts, I just try to remember that most people are voting for Obama because they realize that Republican insanity got us here. The Thugs are on their way out.

14. Nah, they don't want to win because they cannot build, they can only destroy.
And they've looted everything worth looting. Obama will build us back up and 8 years from now another Republican will come in and steal back all the gains. We'll never get ahead of the game in this country.

15. I don't buy it for a second.
Sure after they get pounded they will throw out the "Oh we lost on purpose" line, as if spending hundreds of millions of dollars and losing was part of some master plan. Winners have power losers do not and politics is all about power. They want to win and they will do anything to do it. Anything.

and won't do anything to win, is deluding themselves. And just how are the pukes reduced greatly in the House and Senate going to create havoc?

People floated the same worries for John Kerry.

There's no sense in worrying about something like this. The Republicans will be nasty to the Democrats no matter what happens.
