Tweety, on Morning Joe. Gawd, I thought I was gonna puke.
They were talking about the Ayers/Obama thing. Tweety kept saying over and over, Hussein, Ayers, terrorist, etc. In the 3-4 minutes that I forced myself to watch, Tweety must have said this at least 3 times.

:puke: :puke:

1. I see he's back to being evil Tweety.
He was harping on this on his show yesterday, but to show how desperate and ridiculous the McCain campaign is.

4. He never stopped. Obama just benefitted from the fact that he hated Clinton more.
Now, he likes McCain more than Obama.

He's a total shit.

After considering the other point of view, I've come to the conclusion that Matthews is opposed to the tactics he describes...

I wish he'd stop repeating the key words on the air, though.

28. There is no "evil Tweety"; however, there are DUers who constantly mistake his context.
Such as this OP. I wish DUers would stop reflexively bash MSM talking heads who are patently pulling for OUR candidate
based on an anonymous DUer's knee jerk post.

2. From what I saw he thought it could work politically but hates these appeals to low info voters
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 07:55 AM by dmordue
He was describing the GOP tactic and campaign but certainly not supporting it except to say he was afraid it appealed to the worst extremist low information voters and PA was susceptible to those types of appeals.

9. What Tweety hates is to NOT be invited to all the big soirees by the Political Power Elite
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 07:56 AM by ShortnFiery
within The Beltway.

Tweety serves his disgusting bloated, ruling-class masters by keeping us "peasant folk" confused and/or ate each other's throats. Yes, sometimes Tweety rewards us peons with the unvarnished truth JUST to keep us hooked on his blather. Sort of like the "reward scheme" for a slot machine that draws in gambling addicts. :(

Tweety does his job well. :eyes:

3. Yeah, he carried lots of water for McCain today.
He just kept repeating it over and over, and asking "who is this guy? What's his background?" You fucking PRICK, Tweets! You're the one pretending to be the journalist. Why don't you fucking look into it and tell us, you lame-ass loser shit-eating GOP shill whore. Asshole.

Can you tell I don't like Matthews?

who respond to this sort of thing.

They just include "Tweety" in a post to sound like the last poster and appear to actually understand what Matthews points were.

19. Exactly. He did the same in 04 with the swifboating of Kerry by Malkin etc.
He shredded Malkin's credibility.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoM90bAsr1M

But that's not to say that he does not recognize and report tactics when they are having political effect, which some observers carelessly interpret as advocacy. This accounts for some of the 'which Tweety?' perplexity that frequently crops up.

12. I think that Chris thinks it's scummy
but once he bleieves that he is "on to the political strategy", as if HE is the only one who gets this little theme that the McCain campaign is going for, he hammers it over and over again as if it is the most observant, original piece of political commentary ever, when it is really obvious. He does that often.

29. At the 2004 RNC con in NYC, I was outside watching the TV taping.
Tweety doesn't look at anyone, smile, talk, nothing, unless the camera is on and live. He's totally shut down and sitting there alone. It's obvious the instructions are to never approach him. He sits at the anchor table during all the breaks, shuffling his papers and ignoring everyone and everything.

He's in love with the TV camera. Period.

The crowd was chanting in the streets, overpowering the outdoor MSNBC sound system. It was so funny, that, once, eventually, Tweety finally looked up and laughed at a couple of the stage workers. That I only saw it happen once.

Unlike Tim Russert, who loved to talk to everyone, and was always smiling, Tweety considers mere human beings beneath his contempt. The other pundits and anchors, like Andrea Mitchell, sit across from him at the other table, waiting for the next live segment, but he pretends they're not there. They sit silently or whisper amongst themselves.

The only thing he recognizes is his beloved camera. God help his wife.

I spent 2 long nights outside on the barrier at their outdoor filming. Saw it all with my own eyes.

37. this is only anecdotal of course, but I saw Matthews...
...interact with his wife earlier this year - I can't remember where it was. He was set up on the street, interviewing pundits and pols, and his wife was down the street, in camera view. He insisted on calling her over - she didn't want to come. When she did, he interviewed her, and I got the impression that she was the dominant one in the relationship, LOL. She was very informed - damn, I wish I could remember what context this was in. Kerry and other Dems were there, and they were interviewed too - Kerry was also called over. What the hell? - I can't remember what event this was... not the convention, way before that... Obama was there too - it was not a debate, he was filmed leaving whatever venue this was. Wish I could remember. Anybody else remember this? So much has happened during this long campaign that I can't place this event.

and getting people like Scarborough to address them. He's been crusading on this issue for three days and I'm behind him 100%. He's taking it on... something most commentators are afraid to do.

18. I must admit I missed him today and
I really hated him when he was shamelessly shilling for Bush in 04 but I have to say that when I have seen him so far during this campaign he has been standing up to the bullshit the McCain campaign has been trying to pull calling it the garbage that it was. But like I said I didn't see it this morning so I don't know.

23. jojo.... Tweety was putting Joe and Mika on the defensive....
referred to Palin as a "Low Information Voter".

Made Joe and Mika, of all people, say... "no, it is the economy that really matters".

It was good stuff by Tweety.

Obviously, it went over the heads of many listeners.

24. Tweety makes me sick because he also says the exact opposite
the next day what he said the day before. He's been doing it all throughout the campaign and it really pisses me off.

Remember the primaries? Every week he was like, "it's over, we now know who the democratic nominee will be" and then the next day, the exact opposite.

When he gushes about Obama now it makes me want to puke because I know the day next, he will be saying the opposite.

31. He really should check his blood sugar more frequently
He is, after all, a diabetic, who was fairly recently in hospital for issues related to his diabetes; and it's a medical fact that blood sugar fluctuations can cause erratic behaviour.

35. He's stubborn fixated Tweety. Hey I'm a bulldog. Watch me shake an issue around in your face.
I think that is his purpose. But he doesn't seem to realize that as he gets older he is far less nimble with it and clings to an old tired cliche for far too long.

He doesn't realize that stating and restating false prejudice just helps the RNC with their mission to promote suspicion of Obama because he's so likeable.

Maybe Matthews doesn't realize how much he is helping the Republican cause. Maybe he thinks he's being good by exposing those lies. Bringing them out in the open.
