Can we have a happy thoughts, stress-relieving thread?
Thank you all from talking me down on this previous thread.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x7381691

I'd like to take some great DU advice and focus on some happy thoughts, rather than McCain's nasty, unpatriotic campaign.

So here's some happy thoughts I had today.

-Obama's girls are just a few months from getting a dog. That is going to make them so happy. They're such wonderful children and deserve to have a pet. And I'm so happy to hear reports that they'll rescue an animal from a shelter. How wonderful is this family!?!?!

-I just found out that Obama is going to be in West Philly on Saturday. Just 6 blocks from my house. I am THRILLED! West Philly is by and large a poor community, but you won't find a more staunchly Democratic area anywhere! It is going to mean so much to my neighborhood to have Obama visit. In fact, I think I'll walk over to the neighborhood office and sign up to volunteer for the event. I don't need to see Barack, I just want to help make this event happen!

Here's a video from when Obama last visited West Philly (be sure to watch the end for one of our favorite Obama & baby moments!):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xatvpxldF4U (volume spikes up a bit at the end, if you're watching from work ;))

Anybody else have any happy thoughts today?

1. McCain is playing defense in some red states.
That makes me so happy. :)

4. Yes, there's not a single blue state leaning GOP...
Yet, in Iowa, we've already got one red state in the "likely Dem" category.

That is truly happy-making!

:D

6. Whatever calms you down.
And distracts you from McCain's hateful, race-baiting campaign.

Let's hear it.

12. Listening to Obama, following Michelle's lead last night on Larry King
to not let it get to me.

Smiling when I hear something stupid, instead of getting angry
excepting that in a free country people are free to be stupid

And giving what I can to support the campaign my time and my money
and surrounding my self with Obama supporters at debate parties
but most of all turning the damn TV off from time to time

how did I do?

Coming from New York to do a weekend of canvassing work. I didn't know Obama was going to be there!

8. He's going to be all over. Do you know which office you'll be working out of yet?
There's a good chance you'll be able to see him.

And thank you SO much for coming down from NY to help us out!

15. I'm waiting to hear back from them, but I think the Ardmore office
The Obama office here on Long Island has been organizing weekend carpools to different Pennsylvania areas.
I am so happy to be able to do something. I'm looking forward to this!
