need something to help you get through the financial times ahead?
want to do SOMETHING to help yourself?
we have a legacy in this country of doing for ourselves where we can.
during the first WW and the second rationing brought shortages of common products
and many agricultural goods
during the ford administration with inflation at an all time high he followed the lead of wilson and FDR
he encouraged backyard gardening
it will put beans on your table and tomatos in your salad

i am including a link to a site that explains square foot gardening and making maximum use of limited spaces

last spring i planted my first "barack garden" (yeah i know the pun is the least of all humor but i like it anyway)
i have harvested squash tomatoes peppers and i have another area where i grow so many common herbs i have had to gift everyone i know to be rid of them
i now have my fall crops down several greens and late squash and a small pea patch
if nothing else its good to feel the sun on you and some dirt between your fingers

the link
http://www.squarefootgardening.com/

ok
so lemmee check
gardening ,barack garden,link
i think i got it all in here

2. I planted a small garden too. We've already reaped our crops, and
now it's time to plan for the spring planting.

just always remember you can use the open ground with this method too

6. I'm not a natural by any means when it comes to gardening
let alone growing food (the thought of any chance of ppl's lives depending on my "thumb" is way frightening)

I have property (unfortunately north side of house) but I think will have enough light from east/south/west if I plant further away from house, so as not to have it block the southern sun. It will be one hell of an experience, I can promise you that. Oh and the two boys I have, have just been upgraded from pro-video players, to farmers. :P

5. Unfortunately living in the desert makes growing food difficult at best.
But the one thing we can grow well is citrus.
I'll be eating a lot of homegrown oranges, grapefruit and lemons this winter and that fruit is better looking and better tasting than anything I've ever bought in the grocery store.

7. It's a victory garden like people planted during WWII.
Because when Barack is elected it will be a true victory.
