If McCain is calling the shots in his campaign, I'm ashamed of him.

If McCain is calling the shots in his campaign, I'm ashamed of him.
If someone else is, I'm even more ashamed of him.

This is a sub-Nixon tier of politics -- as distasteful as it gets.

1. I don't have any doubt that he's behind it.
He's an asshole. Always has been.

5. He offered a possible path back to more moderate Republican Party
temperament in year 2000, but when Bush's hacks smeared him in South Carolina, McCain went weird.

We weirded out by backtracking on his attacks on Falwell and the nutbags.

And then he embraced Dubya's initiatives and lies something like 90% of the time.

These days he's a lower primate slinging fecal matter. A dismal excuse for a public servant.

10. I dunno. Maybe you're less cynical than me. I've always seen him as out for one thing - himself.

13. I'm definitely open for your version. As Rocky suggests below,
the Taibbi article in the current ROLLING STONE bolsters your theory over mine.

9. And tragically, if McCain loses, that means Cindy
won't get to be the New Diana!

3. I'll give you a hint OC-
His first name starts with a K and his last name starts with an R. If you haven't had a chance yet check out Matt Taibbis piece in the latest Rolling Stone.

Great as always to see you my friend.

4. Hey there. A big blue hug right back.
Yes -- a strong whiff of Rove does seem to linger in the air.

If McCain wants to have truck with demons, I guess Rove's as demony as they come.

12. Problem is, as it says in the article,
If Rove disappears, there's still a hundred minions of his out there just waiting to pounce. We're going to be dealing with this despicable legacy for a long, long time.

15. Yes, they'll be out there. There's always someone with his hand cocked
with a stone aimed at Piggy in LORD OF THE FLIES.

Piggy's assassin in that story -- Roger -- is one of the few complete nihilists in all literature. Usually even the bad guys have a glimpse of good in them.

But there's none in Roger, and Rove / Atwater / and their minions bear a sharp resemblance to Roger.

In Robert Bly's phrase, "They have men loosening the bolts on Noah's Ark."

He came to me three times last night. I swore I'd never tell the outcome.

8. Hi, Condem. Yes. Atwater casts a long shadow over the modern-day Republicans.
Way too long a shadow.

McCain is going down in November, and may take a good chunk of the party with him.
