. . .McCain/Palin's.

This is so fucking heartbreaking. McCain/Palin go stoking racial fires by using dog whistle language, John Lewis calls them out on it and the media wants to act like John Lewis is as bad.

My dad said it best, its fucking white privilege.

I cannot just sit back and watch these people go after a great American hero like John Lewis. HE DID NOTHING WRONG.

1. no one in the media...
has even 1 ounce of integrity as Mr. Lewis...he is one of the great Americans to ever live! He more than anyone else knows racism and hate when he sees it...he should not be questioned let alone condemned for what he said.

6. They tried to make Obama out as an Angry Black Man, but that didn't work...
Now they've found a target that white folks are more likely to accept as a Scary Angry Black Man.

8. I watched a few minutes of Morning Joe as he sat there smirking
at Harold Ford while Harold supported John Lewis. For whatever it's worth, I sent an email. I can't figure out what's so amusing about this. Apparently Scarborough won't be happy until he hears gunshots.

10. Lewis was RIGHT. McCain/Palin is worse than Wallace cus they know exactly what they are doing
Enough history on the ways Pukes go about inciting distrust and hatred of those "not like them" for Palin to understand the effects of what she says on stage.

After 9-11 how could one not know the impact of associating a political candidate with TERRORISTS.

11. RE: Disgusted
I am utterly disgusted with the MSM. The undertone of the McCain campaign, with their hateful rhetoric, has done nothing but stoke the flames of racism. I am a middle aged white wasp woman...and I can see through their bullshit. I remember MLK and the civil rights movement, I remember parents who used the same coded bigoted language...Lewis is correct...totally correct. and the latest comment by McCain, conveniently slipping in the word "whip" in regard to what he was going to do with Obama on debate night, is just another nail in the coffin. I am shocked and I feel grief that our country has lowered itself to this kind of language "all over again". It is like I have been transported back to the sixties again. I am angry and scared. I am scared when I go out with my Obama t-shirt on. I am scared when I drive my car with my Obama bumper sticker, and I don't even live in the south....but mostly I am sad....sad that there are still too many ignorant narrow minded people in this world...but I have HOPE and that is something no one can take from me....

18. Sounds like you and I
are on the same page. I too am a middle aged...(more aged than middle, but that's beside the point) white WASP woman, and I am absolutely APPALLED by the attacks being allowed by the McCain campaign.

It is frightening for those of us who grew up in the 50s and 60s, and watched, rather helplessly, the hate that was all around us for "them n***ers..who do they think they are?*** It is white privilege...escalated to the days when it was actually acceptable.

It is downright scary to think that neither McCain nor Palin had the integrity to stop this kind of thing the SECOND it became apparent.

It is just plain desperate and sick to think that voicing objections to this sh** is somehow unacceptable.

I am really frightened that November 5 may be the most dangerous day for Senator Obama. I will be praying HARD for him, for Michelle, for the girls, and for our country.

12. For what it's worth, re: MSNBC....
After spending time in right-wing hell over the weekend, MSNBC (in spite of Scarborough and Buchanan) seems to have no credibility at all with wingnuts and is never watched.

I only mention this because I'm curious what channels are watched by those on the other side of the aisle and how it may be influencing things. It's a given they are most influenced by Faux.

I suppose it's what the undecided/independent voters are watching that is most critical at this juncture.

The right wingers I was around say they'll watch CNN sometimes to see "what the other side is saying," but they feel MSNBC is fully in the tank for the left ("thanks to Olbermann and Maddow"), so they never watch MSNBC.

Again, Faux is the Holy Grail.

14. Nope, I'm very supportive of the Obama campaign taking the high road, but the high road doesn't mean
. . .that they can play the games they are playing. Lewis was right to speak up and he deserves to be backed up.
