I am struck by the similar peculiar way
that McCain surrogates speak-very monotone with no pausing between phrases and no affect. Do you think they've been programed by a hypnotist or something?

2. I noticed that too. I think it's because they are reciting talking
points that they have memorized, rather than thinking about what they are saying.

They are counting on the American public to be intellectually lazy.

I think it's that the Republicans believe that if they just say words, crammed together in pseudo run-on sentences, toss in a few catch phrases: Economy, Maverick, War, Betcha.... that enough of the American public is going to start saying, "All that hard economy stuff they talking about sounds the same to me. Well, then I may as well pick the white guy whose name don't sound like a half-breed muslin."
