Poll question: Are you hoping McCain brings up Ayers Wednesday night?
Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 06:15 PM by Quixote1818
Seems to me McCain is dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn't bring up Ayers. He is taking a lot of flack about it from the media and it sounds like Obama is ready to return fire with some kind of surprise knockout blow if he does. Maybe bringing up McCain's terrorist friend G. Gordon Liddy or scolding McCain for his hate rallies. If McCain doesn't bring Ayers up, his base will think he is a big pussy and be ready to beat his ass.

Lose, lose for McCain.

1. I hope he does, but I'm pretty certain he will chicken out.
Unless the moderater asks a question about it point blank, I expect McLame to wimp out and crash another plane

3. I hope he does, but I think he won't.
I think McCain will try to push this positive campaign point to improve his image and let his campaign pick up Ayers again in the days after the debate.

If he does, I'm absolutely sure Obama will have the perfect response. He already had one preparred last week.

4. Meh.
If he brings it up, I'm sure Obama has a prepared zinger ready to lay the smack down on gramps.

If he doesn't bring it up, great. The less we have to talk about bullshit instead of the issues the better. But grandpa can't hang with Obama on the issues... so I'm expecting it gets ugly.

5. He's a coward... he won't
I'm with the guy in his crowd who was begging him to take the gloves off... but he won't. Cowards talk big but run and hide from sticks:)

6. No - its a distraction and it does not hurt Obama per the polls so why encourage
the other side to use dirty politics. Obama rarely takes part in these kind of politics because he rightfully believes that people are sick and tired of it.

7. Obama can certainly
counter with the big McCain supporter who put Ayers on the board in the first place. McCain hasn't denounced her support or return her campaing contribution.

The list of Republicans who served on the same board with Ayers is impressive. Does McCain really want to go there? Of course. Is he smart enough not to? I doubt it.

11. It really seems like a dead end for McCain but his base is putting the pressure on
Little do they know they are really putting him in a bad position.

8. I hope the MF (McKKKain) brings it up
as it seems many of the rabid McKKKain supporters seem to be familiar with the Ayers connection McKKKain/Failin is trying to create with Obama and that seems to be their main talking point against him.......who is he? palin's around with terrorists, bad for amerika, muslim, etc........Hopefully some of those rabid rethugs will be watchin(g) McKKKain and maybe it will be finally put to rest even for the damn MSM. McKKKain also told Gibson he wouldn't be afraid to say it to his face........so let McKKKain find his cajones and ask him. I don't think he can find them tho........just saying.

9. Oh, do I hope he brings it up
For three reasons:

1)There's no there there.
2) Obama is ready for it if he does.
3) In years past, I would have been worried that McCain could draw an flimsy but LIV-pleasing unfavorable contrast between Ayers' radicalism and his own service, but what people did in the '60s just isn't as hot a button as it used to be.

12. I think he must..
he is the one spouting "Who is Barack Obama", and 'he has some questions he needs to answer', and associating with terrorists. And he is the one that said he would indeed ask those questions to his face. This pile of shit is too big to sweep under the rug.

13. YES! So Obama can show the country how McPanic has been lying his sleezy ass off.
I want Barack to start using the word LYING or LIES because that is what McCain and Palin are doing.. NON-STOP. They haven't told the truth about a damn thing this entire election and the MSM is letting them get away with it! There's no follow up questions to their lies so they just sit there as if they're the truth.

I want Barack to call McCain on his shit RIGHT TO HIS LYING FACE!!!!!!

15. Obama needs to catch McLiar off-guard and bring it up himself in his opening statement.
He needs to clear the air, and ask McLiar to his face if he truly believes Obama is a terrorist and that he is friends with Ayres. Force him further into the corner on the national stage and make him own up to his statements. He can throw McLiar into such a state of panic that he will have a very difficult time composing himself for the rest of the debate.

16. Thats a good idea but they might have something good waiting for McCain
Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 06:30 PM by Quixote1818
if McCain brings it up. It's hard to use the goods unless you are returning fire. Plus they will want an answer that gets played over and over for free on the networks. Maybe he could taunt McCain into bringing it up. Then if McCain doesn't take the bate he looks even weaker.

18. Actually
I'd like Obama to bring it up . . . It's like the movie 8 Mile - where Rabbit brings up all of his 'perceived' faults at the 'Rap Off'. Totally take it back.

It's like this - for the past year and a half - when I run into Rethugs I'm real clear and say, "I'm a Democrat. And I'm absolutely UNAPOLOGETIC about it."

It tells them to step off without having to say it out loud. ;-)

20. I hope just the opposite happens....
I think Obama should bring it up.

When they are introduced Obama should walk out and say:
"Before we get started I want to get something out in the open, and settled once and for all. Senator McCain, do you think I'm a terrorist?"

What do you think McCain would say?
