On Election Night, East Coast Will Tell Us Early....
When Obama wins PA, pop the corks.

When Obama wins VA, pop the corks.

When Obama wins NC, pop the corks.

When Obama wins FL, pop the corks.

When Obama wins MO, pop the corks.

When Obama wins IN, pop the corks.

We will know early. The fun will be celebrating, watching the map turn blue and counting to 60 in the Senate.

1. I'm turning blue from holding my breath.
The question is, can I be optimistic right now?

I have a love/fear of election night. 2004 was like a dreadful verdict. It started out beautiful, and ended up ugly.

2. Be confident.
It is not 2004. Kerry never had what Obama does now: CO, NM, IA, VA.

And, chances in NC, FL, IN, and more surprises.

It will be party time for us!

17. Here's something I'd like to pass on to you.
I got this email from a friend who used to be married to Gore's lead recount attorney. You might like it.

I've been doing close electoral map analysis every few days for months now.
I feel good about Virginia, but I don't think we'll take Ohio or Florida or
North Carolina, so we HAVE to take either Colorado or Missouri. Colorado is
the better chance, Obama is ahead in polls here, but I am not secure about
it. It still feels like a McCain kind of state to me. There's been purging
of voter rolls, etc. A Republican Sec of State. And Missouri is such a
longshot....McCain is still ahead there in the polls.

5. NC is beautiful.
If OH goes Obama, smash the bottle on you head! I almost can't stomach thinking about your state.

10. if you decide to leave Ohio
how about putting a trail of bread crumbs or something out so we can follow? My husband was reading the paper today and said he was ashamed to be from Ohio because there are just so many completely ignorant people here.

7. I really wish there was a rule that kept the media from publishing results
until the west coast voting was well under way. Or election boards held their tallies until then.

I'm more worried about the results keeping folks in Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, etc from getting out to vote.

13. I am a liberal Presbyterian minister -
so - I will be taking a goodly sip of White Zin every time a state is called for Obama.

I am assuming we'll go to better than 40 states or I'd hit a shot of tequila every state.

The Bush era is almost over.

14. No celebration here until the Washington state results are in.
Because I won't be celebrating much if that fucking vile pig Rossi manages to steal this one. And for that reason, the goddamn media whores better not be calling any election while the polls are still open. We need every vote up here.

And I'm sure the Californian's will agree, given the "Vote 8 for Hate" ballot measure.
