1. I was once asked whether we Quakers
were allowed to use electricity. This was in a chatroom, mind you.

15. Well, I can't remember what I had for breakfast.
But ask me a year from now and I may be able to tell you. That's the kind of memory I have. My long term memory goes back to when I was about one year old, but my short term memory ........what was I saying. ;)

7. The whole state should just pretend to be Amish..
..so they'll just use paper ballots and get rid of this electronic shit.

8. I'm sure the Hookies vote on paper ballots.
Otherwise they'll use whatever the white man has at their polling place.

12. All kidding aside
...in Ohio (where we have a fair few), they may choose a paper ballot. Also, they make exceptions for use of some modern technology if they don't own it, do so for a valid reason, etc. So, if Eli Yoder wants to vote, he'll find a way. :-)

14. Pennsylvania Amish will use electricity
Edited on Thu Oct-23-08 10:02 AM by thecorrection
Just won't own it. For example, they won't own cars but there are car services that will give them rides if they need them. They set-up stands in farmer's markets, which have electricity. So it's really a non-issue.

Edited to add:
Though in all my years voting in PA, I never saw any Amish at the polls. Mennonites yes, Amish, no.
