I Have An Action For Every DU'er To Take Part In. I Urge You To Do So.
We all keep hearing about misinformation given to people about how to vote, when to vote, vote straight ticket, they could get arrested if they vote etc, in an attempt to disenfranchise democratic voters. But as we all know, knowledge is power.

Do you care about making sure voters get to the polls and vote correctly? Do you care about helping to make sure voters in your area are educated on the process and not misled? Do you want to help make sure that the disgraceful scumbags who perpetrate such deception are neutralized by an informed electorate? Then please join me in this action.

What do I want you to do? I want EACH of you to do some quick research on your local election laws, times, balloting procedures and voting requirements. This shouldn't take long. Then I want you type up a letter containing nothing but the facts, no political bias or rooting for your candidate, just the facts, and send it as a letter to the editor of any local papers that are delivered for free in your area, as well as any that are pay papers (but the local ones will likely print your letter far more readily). That's all I want you to do. Explain thoroughly, informatively and factually everything a voter needs to know for election day and just put a quick paragraph at top explaining how important it is to have the facts and that you wanted to supply the facts below. Then mail it off.

An additional idea that any of you that can afford to do so or feel inclined to do so could do is call your local paper to negotiate a fee for running a big paid ad detailing the facts, so that it could be even more readily seen. Some of you can also call the paper directly, tell them you will supply them the facts, tell them how important it is, and see if they'd just run an article on their own.

But at the least, I think EVERY ONE OF US could write a letter to the editor detailing the local voting facts of our area and have it printed, so that tons of people will have the ability to read it and have the necessary education to not be deceived. Knowledge is power!

1. Our local paper has already run several letters about electioneering
and fraud. The Texas DNC has had to work to counter some bogus emails and other voting information that is wrong and would cause overvotes.
