I know it's not true. You know it's not true.

But it'll make our side work harder and pick up more contributions. So it's not a bad thing.

4. If you ignore that game, it makes it easier for them to steal it
and quantify the results.

8. The GOP can steal one state. They can 't steal six or seven...
...because they're almost flat broke. And really, all we need is one or two swing states and we're golden.

Quit being such a prophet of doom.

5. Polls tightening means that McCain Voters will have hope and

show up at the polls to save their hero.

Also undecideds that tend to go with the winner will think about
who to vote for that much more, and some who might not have
might vote McCain.

So, no, Polls tightening as a "meme" is not good for Team Obama or for us, IMO.

10. I disagree. It means that OUR voters will refuse to get complacent.
It's not a bad meme--Obama HIMSELF said this would happen. And in any case, "tightening" is a media word that means Obama is only 7-8 points ahead and not 9-10.

8 points was how much Clinton beat Dole by in 1996. Stop worrying so much.

6. Its a bad thing in that it prepares the public for another theft of an election
If everyone assumes it was close before the vote, they wont question whether it was stolen afterwards.

9. It's all they have left to cover. They have done the Obama as terrorist story,
the Obama hates the common folk and want to tax them to the moon story, the Obama is a socialist story, and Obama is anti-American story. So what else is left for media to do in the next week and a half? Unless McCain throws another smear the polls will be even by next Saturday according to them.

11. Obama: "The race will tighten."
During an interview on NBC’s “Today Show,” Obama said there is “no doubt” that “the race will tighten.”

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14742.html

I agree with Obama on this one. Like he said, almost inevitably, presidential races tighten as we get closer to the election. I don't know how you can be so sure that these polls showing a tightening of the race are wrong.
