This is what I don't understand about Obama's money shortage......
What am I missing about Obama's money issue? I guess the email is comparing the money Obama had on 10/15, which is $66 million, to the McCain money AND the RNC money which is together is $84 million. So that is where they get the $20 million difference.

But Obama COULD raise money after 10/15 and McCain could not. Also, both the DNC and RNC could raise money, not just the RNC. So maybe the RNC is giving ALL of their new donations to McCain and the DNC is not. But I would assume the RNC and DNC is giving some money to the congressional elections also.

I am not sure if the email was just trying to promote donations, and if it was it worked because I just sent them another $60, but it does make me wonder why we are short of money.

I posted this a last week after the 10/15 campaign updates......

=============================================================================

He raised $36 million the first two weeks of October and had $66 million left in his account on 10/15.

McCain had only $25 million as of 10/15 but he cannot raise any money, only the RNC can.

So if Obama had $66 million on 10/15 and I assume will raise 18 million more each remaining week, that means he will get to spend $66 Million plus, assuming a cash inflow like the first two weeks of October, another $48 million for October and until 11/4. (36 million /15 days * 20 remaining days = $48 million)

So it appears Obama, without the DNC money, will have $114 million to spend between 10/15 and 11/4. $5.7 million a day!

McCain will have $25 Million to spend between 10/15 and 11/4. $1.25 million a day.

And the DNC had $31 million to spend and the RNC had $59 million.

Even if the RNC spends ALL of that money on McLame, then McLame still only has $84 million vs. $114 million for Obama not counting ANY of the DNC money.

And I am pretty sure the RNC will need to spend some money on some other races.

And something tells me maybe the Obama supporters stepped up in the last week with more than the average for the first two weeks of October.

But worst case, Obama has $30 million more than McLame to spend the last 20 days of the election.

And the story is Obama already paid for the October media buys earlier in the month.

I think money is not an issue!!

1. I just sent money too because of that e-mail
I don't care if they are being cautious about running out of money but hell... I wish I had more.
