My daughter just told me about some nasty rumors going around campuses.
She attends a state university and recently some professors have had to dispel some election rumors. Apparently these are an attempt to keep students away from the polls. Mostly these claims are aimed at non-residents.

There are variations but basically students are hearing that if they are from out of state (or even out of towners), they could lose their scholarships/grants or that their parents won't be able to deduct them as dependents if they vote at the University.
Of course IA law is clear about this:
‘If you are from another state (i.e. Illinois) and are attending college in Iowa (i.e. Iowa State University), you may register to vote in:
• your Iowa college town or
• your home state (hometown) and vote absentee - subject to the laws of your home state.’

Just more GOP bullshit to try to suppress the vote.

BTW, a poll of students at the U of Iowa showed them supporting Obama by 4:1. :bounce: :toast: :applause:
