Obama will work with repubs and DLCers. You're utterly deceiving
yourself if you believe otherwise. Obama has been clear: He believes that the only chance of advancing his agenda is to forge alliances with those groups and people- or at least give it lip service and not come off as relentless partisan. So yeah, you're going to see repubs in the Cabinet and repub advisors. And you'll also see Obama reaching out to blue dog dems as well as liberals. This is something he's made clear over and over again for a long time now. This is a guy that looks carefully at the past- and that includes both the successes and failures of past presidents.

1. It really doesn't matter.
Because only New Deal type policies will bail this out. Obama is also practical.

4. I think Obama's instincts are indeed liberal, but I also think that he
has a strong streak of pragmatism. So did FDR.

3. No doubt. We'll be seeing just how much Obama is NOT a socialist very soon...

5. Everyone who doesn't understand will be very upset when
they realize Obama is a true centrist...

We'll have to wait and see how he governs though...

6. Is he? I think that remains to be seen.
One can be a liberal and a pragmatist. Obama's history tends to point to his having a liberal foundation.
