What are the "telltale signs" of an electoral landslide ?
I know none of us have working crystal balls, but what are the best guesses ? I hope and pray Obama gets a landslide.

9. Agreed. Like the other post said VA=win, NC= landslide.

If he wins NC, he will also carry every other battleground state in the region.
(I'm not counting GA as BG, it would be an upset because Obama never campaigned there.)

4. Per 538, chances of landslide have been ossilating between 30% and 50%.....
Keep in mind that 538 has a somewhat higher bar as to what counts as a "landslide" than some others.

5. Obama's and Biden's demeanor
They're both laughing and smiling and look very confident. They're internal polls are obviously excellent, and they're on a roll, refusing to coast into the finish line.

And most importantly we're getting the rumors of who he may pick to be in his Administration. All signs that they're already looking ahead to the next part.

McCain is in single digits in his home state.

10. If IN goes Obama early on, we'll know.
Indiana polls close earliest so if that state goes Obama first, that will be a FANTASTIC SIGN.

15. If Obama is doing well in Indiana it will take a long time to call the state for him.
Indiana usually is called very early because it is so obvious that the republican is going to win the state. They will need results from a lot of key precincts and counties to call it for Obama this year. That will take some time.

But the longer it takes for Indiana to be called one way or the other this year the better Obama will be doing nationally. One important key in Indiana this year is how early Daniels is declared the winner in the race for governor versus when the state is called for Obama or McCain. If Daniels is outperforming McCain by a large margin, that will be an encouraging sign for Obama.

11. McCain up by only one in Arizona, McCain up by one in North Dakota,
Indiana tied, McCain up by only 3 points in Georgia, all in today's polls. That these states are even competitive is indicative that something big is going on.
