Does anybody remember the White House Plumbers?
Why would McCain be so stupid as to use Joe the plumber as a campaign prop?

I mean talk about resurrecting skeletons for Halloween!

1. That's funny. I'd forgotten about that.
Wasn't Gordon Liddy a 'plumber?'

2. Yeah, I've been thinking about "G. Gordon the Plumber" vs "Joe the Plumber"
and McCain palling around with domestic terrorist plumbers.

16. Just saw old G. Gordon
(Shoot for their heads) Liddy on Olbermann. He's still trying hard to continue his "continuous improvement" program in the outrageous category.

3. I haven't forgotten
That Watergate episode was the inspiration for the Atwaters and Roves and other dirty tricksters who have stolen far too many elections in the ensuing years.

memories when it comes to politics, very few people even remember the plumbers any more. And I thought the Nixon White House was so full of criminals, they were small fry compared to this gang of criminals. And they had the good taste to get caught and most went to jail, these criminals will never serve any jail time, if my guess is correct.

10. Good catch
You would have thought Olbermann or Madow would have thought of the 'plumber' connection.

11. Also, any one remember "the Polish plumber" issue in the last French presidential election?
That was an EU issue -- the point was, plumbers from Poland were allegedly swamping France, and charging a lot less than native-born Frenchmen in the business.

12. plumbers stop the leaking
"Its job was to stop the leaking (hence "plumbers") of classified information to the news media. Its members branched into more nefarious projects working for the Committee to Re-elect the President (CRP, or CREEP), including the Watergate break-ins and the ensuing Watergate scandal."

Two plumbers were E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy
