I'm so f---king nervous right now
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 02:32 AM by Adenoid_Hynkel
I'm confident and realize what a flawless campaign Obama's run, that the national polls are in our favor, that he's ahead in swing states

but I'm still fucking nervous.

These next 48 hours are going to be the longest of our lives.

5. The Sofa King is very scary
But not as bad as the Mattress King. That guy will, well, go to the mattresses.

12. I've seen a lot of projections giving McCain EVERY state he has a chance in on this site
so I did the math giving Obama every state he WILL certainly get PLUS every state he has a chance in (within the margins of error or very close)

Obama - 385 EVs
McCain - stale bread crumbs

13. Me too
I'm a wreck. I keep thinking about the Texas primary when the polls showed Obama slightly ahead and Hillary overtook him in the last couple of days.

I don't know if people are still making up their minds or have already decided. I avoided any and all election coverage over the weekend.

14. I'm specifically worried about this coal plant line of attack
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 02:57 AM by Adenoid_Hynkel
Perfectly devised as a last-minute appeal to people in western Pa and western Va.
It's getting major air here on the Ohio/Ky/WV border and the usual rw P.r. groups (friends of coal, etc.) are jumping on it

23. I'm thinking corporate America fixed the election for Hillary...
They wanted to stack the deck with two corporate minded candidates. Here in NY during the primaries, in 80 districts there wasn't a single vote recorded for Obama, NOT ONE, not even in Harlem.

I'm a wreck as well, I'm figuring they're not just manipulating the computers to steal the election, they're brazenly letting the votes disappear right in front of the voters' eyes. I can't wait to see what Oprah has to say about her vote for Obama disappearing.

16. I'm nervous too!!
I agree. I've always been a pessimist and I want to believe and hope so much, but from what happened the last two times, I just don't want to get my hopes up too much! All I know, is that if Obama doesn't win, there is something very wrong and we should all riot and kick some republican ass!! :kick:

18. Here is a good form of therapy...
Of course helping with the campaign is probably best, but I'm overseas right now so that's not possible. I have been playing around with the electoral maps though, I'm sure you know at least a dozen places on the web to find interactive ones, I've been using the one at 270towin.com today and using the RealClearPolitics individual state poll averages, even assuming Obama only wins the states that RCP has him with an average of +5 he still wins the election. And that's with only the +5 and higher states, if we do +4 and higher he wins in a landslide with 338 electoral votes.

Also read Nate's latest blog posts at 538.com, he just posted a new update about an hour ago showing things looking even better for Obama again.

21. The GOP cannot rig that many elections.
According to RCP, Obama's electoral vote FLOOR is 291.

Meaning, the GOP would have to rig PA + 56 electoral votes in the "toss-ups" (many of which Obama has leads in) for Obama to lose.

In all likelihood, Obama will capture at least 34 of those. And PA is not going to the GOP, much as the idiots over in Freeperland think it will. PA hasn't selected a Repig in over two decades, and if they didn't select the "Brand Name" for two elections, they ain't-a gonna select McBumbler.

Theft would be the only way McClown wins this, and they know it. They aren't dealing with the razor-thin, "close enough to pull the steal" 2000 and 2004 elections. The polls and the electoral votes are not even close to what Kerry had at this point in time. Theft would be the only plausible explanation.

I'm far more confident now than I was in 2004. Kerry just didn't have the numbers. Obama does.
